This offers the opportunity to join an innovative high-tech company developing cutting-edge adaptive neural networks. They specialise in creating AI systems that learn in real-time. This allows true machine learning to be applied and benefits industries such as UAV, manufacturing and Industry 4.0.

The Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated AI Control Engineer to join their team focused on applying advanced AI techniques to real-world automation and control challenges. You will work on both R&D projects and commercial clients, helping to bring innovative AI solutions to industry.

This is an exciting role for someone with a passion for control engineering, robotics, simulation, and AI technologies. You will have the chance to work on a variety of challenging, real-world problems.

The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills and enjoy solving complex, multifaceted technical challenges. Experience with mechatronic systems is a strong plus. Additionally, someone with Robotics experience will also be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build test rigs for robotics and engineering systems to assess the performance of AI controllers in real-world conditions.
  • Develop AI training environments to optimise the functionality of AI controllers, including working with digital twin simulations and physical systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and implement solutions.
  • Build physics engines and digital twin models of industrial processes and robotics as part of the AI training pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet customer requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in engineering or science (e.g., mechatronics, computer science, physics). Advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years commercial experience on relevant projects.
  • Ability to learn and work with proprietary AI software stacks to develop AI controllers.
  • Strong programming skills, especially in Python and/or C++.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with control systems (e.g., PID, MPC) and familiarity with robotics, drones, or similar projects is a plus.

Behaviours and Personal Characteristics:

  • High degree of autonomy.
  • Eager and quick to learn new technologies and applications.
  • Problem-solving mindset, with a desire to assist others in overcoming technical challenges.
  • Product-focused, with strong prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.

This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI technology in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, helping to shape the future in a growing company.

Please apply for consideration.
