NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care services to renal patients within the regional directorate. You will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) but there will be a requirement to provide clinics at other sites within GGC. You will work with the existing senior renal pharmacist and the multidisciplinary teams in managing a defined inpatient case load, participation in clinics and facilitating the management of specialist medicines such as orphan drugs and IPTR/PACS2 requests. A key component for this post over the next 2 years is to coordinate and implement the conversion of the immunosuppressant brand of Prograf to Adoport (Tacrolimus) at transplant clinics across Glasgow.
Substantive experience in renal and an independent prescribing qualification are essential.
This post is 22.2 hours per week and will be worked on a Thursday and Friday with one additional day to be agreed.
The QEUH is one of the largest acute hospitals in the UK and has an excellent team of friendly pharmacy staff committed to modernisation of services.
