Multiverse is the upskilling platform for AI and Tech adoption.
We have partnered with 1,500+ companies to deliver a new kind of learning that's transforming today’s workforce.
Our upskilling apprenticeships are designed for people of any age and career stage to build critical AI, data, and tech skills. Our learners have driven $2bn+ ROI for their employers, using the skills they’ve learned to improve productivity and measurable performance.
In June 2022, we announced a $220 million Series D funding round co-led by StepStone Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst. With a post-money valuation of $1.7bn, the round makes us the UK’s first EdTech unicorn.
But we aren’t stopping there. With a strong operational footprint and 800+ employees, we have ambitious plans to continue scaling. We’re building a world where tech skills unlock people’s potential and output.
Join Multiverse and power our mission to equip the workforce to win in the AI era.
The Mission & The Squad
Multiverse is the upskilling platform for AI and Tech adoption. We are doubling down on our AI strategy with the launch of ourAI Adoption Platform. This squad operates as a foundational "startup" within the business. Our MVP has already demonstrated10x adoption results in initial pilots—now we’re building the engine to scale it to the world.
As a Software Engineer in this squad, you won’t just be a "junior" developer; you’ll be a foundational builder in a greenfield environment, learning directly from senior experts as we define the future of work.
The Challenge
We move fast. In your first 6 months, you will:
Ship Real Features: Ship production-ready code across the backend and frontend (Typescript, NodeJS, React).
Design MVP and Scale: Learn and contribute to build a product from the beginning
Own Your Craft: Go deep on modern engineering practices, from writing clean, testable code to understanding how our AWS infrastructure supports our users.
Your Impact
Reliable Delivery: You take ownership of small-to-medium tasks, delivering high-quality code that is well-tested and readable.
Active Learner: You treat every code review as a masterclass. You are proactive in seeking feedback and are constantly leveling up your technical skills.
Collaboration: You engage actively in squad ceremonies, pairing with senior engineers to solve complex problems and contributing to technical discussions.
Operational Awareness: You help maintain our platform’s health, learning how to monitor logs and participate in the "build it, run it" culture.
Operating Principles in Action
Solve for Customer Value: You don't just "complete tickets." You ask, "How will this specific button or API change make the user's experience better?"
Drivers, Not Passengers: If you see a bug or a confusing piece of documentation, you fix it. You don't wait for permission to make our codebase better.
Be Decisive, Even in Ambiguity: You aren't afraid to try a solution, even if you aren't 100% sure it's perfect. We value "learning by doing" over over-analysis.
AI to Deliver Outcomes: You are an AI-native engineer. You use tools likeCursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to accelerate your learning and boost your coding velocity.
What We Are Looking For
The Foundational Builder: 1-2 years of experience (or equivalent through high-intensity bootcamps/projects) working with TypeScript, React, or Python.
Curiosity & Agency: You are the person who figures out why a deployment failed or how a new framework works.
Problem-Solving Core: You have a solid grasp of computer science fundamentals and a passion for building clean, user-centric interfaces.
Team Player: You enjoy pairing, sharing what you’ve learned, and growing alongside a high-performing team.
What We Are Not Looking For
Order Takers: We don't provide a step-by-step manual. We need people who are comfortable with a bit of "scrappy" chaos and enjoy finding their own path, while having access to the necessary support.
Siloed Thinkers: If you "only do frontend" and refuse to touch a database or a deployment script, this isn't the right squad for you.
Note: You don't need to check every single box to apply. If you have 1 year of experience but a 10x appetite for learning, we want to see your application. We value the "Driver" mindset and a growth trajectory above a perfect checklist.
