Senior Data Engineer - UK Hybrid | SC Cleared | £Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Permanent | Major UK Government Programme | Azure / AWS / ETL / Python

Are you a skilled Data Engineer ready to work on some of the UK's most impactful technology challenges? We're working with a leading technology company supporting a major UK Government programme, and they're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their dynamic, forward-thinking team.

This is a permanent role, open to candidates UK-wide, with remote working and ad-hoc travel to client or internal sites. You must hold (or be eligible for) SC clearance.

The Role

You'll play a key role in designing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable data solutions. Working across a range of projects, you'll collaborate with technical teams, partners, and stakeholders to deliver modern, high-performing data environments.

You'll be responsible for:

Designing and implementing data pipelines for analytics and BI systems

Maintaining and operating data platforms and streaming systems

Debugging, optimising and supporting complex data workflows

Leading on data architecture and platform evaluation

Supporting data migration, integration, and transformation activities

Playing a hands-on role in delivery planning and risk mitigation

What You'll Need

Strong experience with ETL tools like SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Glue

Cloud platform experience in AWS or Azure, including data services like Power BI or Pentaho

Solid understanding of Python and its data science/ML libraries

Agile delivery experience with task estimation and dependency management

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bonus if you have:

Hadoop / Jenkins experience

Azure or AWS certifications

Familiarity with Java
