Department of AI and Personalised Health
Within the School, the Department of AI and Personalised Health advances responsible, equitable and evidence-based applications of digital health and artificial intelligence. We are preparing to launch our brand-new Master of Digital Health in September 2027, designed to equip students to critically develop, evaluate and implement digital technologies across health and care.
About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Digital Health and AI. This new academic appointment combines education, research and academic citizenship and offers an exciting opportunity to help shape our brand-new Master of Digital Health, which will welcome its first students in September 2027. The programme aims to equip students with the interdisciplinary knowledge and skills needed to critically develop, evaluate and implement digital technologies and artificial intelligence across health and care.
Working alongside Dr Ruth Plackett and Professor Josip Car, you will support the academic leadership and day-to-day coordination of the programme. You will co-lead the Introduction to Digital Health module and contribute research-informed teaching across the programme. You will also contribute to curriculum development, assessment and feedback, supervise Master’s dissertations and applied projects, support students’ academic development and participate in programme evaluation and enhancement.
Alongside your educational contribution, you will develop an independent and collaborative programme of research in digital health and responsible artificial intelligence. You will produce high-quality research outputs, contribute to funding proposals and build interdisciplinary collaborations within the Department, across King’s and with external partners. Depending on your expertise, these collaborations may include King’s Health Partners, NHS organisations, industry, patients and the public. We particularly welcome research that advances the responsible development, evaluation or implementation of digital health and AI-enabled approaches, with attention to safety, governance, health equity & population health.
This is a full-time post of 35 hours per week, offered on an indefinite contract.
