Lead Engineer, Lead Developer, Full Stack Engineering, Azure, .NET, C#, City, London

Lead AI Engineer / Lead AI Developer required for an exciting Professional Services organisation. This will be 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

We need a hands-on Lead AI Engineer / Lead AI Developer who can also lead people, set standards and deliver real outcomes in a highly regulated environment. This is not a role for someone who "just writes code". It is for someone who understands why they are building something, not just how.

You will work across modern engineering, cloud technologies and digital delivery, guiding a small development team while collaborating with Product, Architecture and wider technical groups. This is all about building with purpose, solving real problems and helping take this organisation on a proper technology journey. There will be a huge AI edge to it too – so any experience with GenAI (Co-Pilot, ChatGPT or Claude etc) would be very welcome.

Key development skillset required:

·C#, .NET platform, Python, Azure PaaS (Azure AI Foundry, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Cosmos DB, Azure App Service, ARM/Bicep templates), SharePoint and Co-Pilot Studio.

  • AI-native judgement. You should be fluent across AI-native engineering, from building natively in the platform, using AI-enabled tools to accelerate your own craft, and taking coalface experiments through to production-grade operationalised solutions.

·Good understanding of Azure DevOps processes, in-depth understanding of Azure Resource Management.

What you will be doing:

·Leading the way across a portfolio of applications.

·Being hands on while also shaping delivery and engineering standards.

·Working with Product Managers and business teams to prioritise and allocate work.

·Delivering both strategic and tactical technology solutions.

·Applying modern DevOps and exploring emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.

This is a great opportunity and salary is dependent upon experience. Apply now for more details.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
