Are you an experienced AI engineering leader who has built and scaled production-grade LLM generation systems, and do you want to shape the future of AI-generated gaming by owning the architecture, roadmap, evaluation strategy and performance of a cutting-edge game generation platform?
This is a rare opportunity to join a well-funded, high-growth technology business at the forefront of AI-powered game creation. You'll take ownership of the end-to-end game generation pipeline, leading a multidisciplinary team while defining the technical vision that drives product quality, scalability and efficiency.
In this leadership-focused role, you will be responsible for evolving a sophisticated generation system covering intent extraction, model routing, asset retrieval, generation, validation, repair and runtime execution. You will work closely with product, game design and engineering stakeholders to ensure the platform continues to deliver engaging, playable experiences at scale.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record leading teams that have delivered LLM-powered generation products in production environments. You will be comfortable balancing technical excellence, commercial considerations and product priorities while driving improvements in both generation quality and cost efficiency.
The Role:
- Lead and grow the AI team across ML, data engineering and game development functions
- Own the architecture and technical strategy for the game generation pipeline
- Define evaluation frameworks, benchmarks and playability metrics
- Design feedback loops that utilise player and creator engagement data
- Drive model routing, caching, retrieval and optimisation strategies to reduce generation costs
- Partner with product and engineering teams to shape the technical roadmap
The Person:
- Experience leading engineering teams delivering LLM-powered generation systems at scale
- Strong background in multi-stage AI generation, validation and evaluation pipelines
- Proven experience optimising model utilisation, routing and generation costs
- Able to contribute to architecture reviews and technical decision-making
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance product and technical trade-offs
- Games industry, procedural generation or game tooling experience highly advantageous
