Full Stack Python Developer

Salary: £60,000 to £80,000

Location: West London

Working arrangement: Predominantly office and customer-site based, with some remote working available

Employment: Permanent, full-time

MFK Recruitment is recruiting a Full Stack Python Developer for an innovative UK technology company developing advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions for defence, security and other demanding real-world environments.

The company specialises in computer vision, perception and autonomy, combining modern deep learning with neuroscience-inspired technology to create accurate, robust and reliable AI systems.

MFK Recruitment has successfully recruited four Engineers to this company over the past five years, and all four are still with the business. This speaks volumes about the company’s culture, technical challenges and long-term opportunities.

Full Stack Python Developer role

The Full Stack Python Developer will build applications that allow customers to use advanced computer vision technology within real operational environments.

Rather than developing the AI models themselves, you will create the intuitive, high-performance software through which users can search, analyse and enhance imagery and video, compare outputs from different AI models and visualise detection and performance statistics.

You will also integrate these applications and AI capabilities with existing customer systems, infrastructure and operational workflows.

You will work closely with Python, C++ and AI Engineers, as well as customers and end users, helping to shape products from initial concept through to deployment.

This role offers genuine influence over software architecture, technology choices and product direction.

The position is predominantly office and customer-site based in West London, although some remote working will be available.

Full Stack Python Developer responsibilities

* Design and develop modern, responsive full stack applications.

* Build intuitive user interfaces for complex AI and computer vision workflows.

* Develop applications for image analysis, video review and AI visualisation.

* Create tools for generating and managing Machine Learning training datasets.

* Integrate AI capabilities and applications with existing customer systems.

* Develop software interfaces and integrated workflows that improve existing processes.

* Work with customers to understand their infrastructure, technical requirements and operational needs.

* Collaborate with Python, C++ and AI Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

* Contribute to software architecture, technical direction and technology choices.

Essential experience

* At least three years of commercial full stack development experience.

* Strong Python development skills.

* Commercial experience using Django and/or Flask.

* Front-end development experience using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.

* Experience integrating different software applications, APIs or customer systems.

* Experience developing integrated workflows and understanding data flows between systems.

* Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

* Experience delivering reliable, production-quality software.

* Strong software engineering practices, including Git, automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD.

* The ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.

Desirable experience

* Data-lake or lakehouse technologies such as Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, Databricks, Snowflake or AWS Lake Formation.

* Image or video visualisation, enhancement, rendering or tagging applications.

* GIS or geo-referenced imagery.

* Event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams or AWS services.

* Experience integrating AI, Machine Learning or computer vision products.

* Unreal Engine 5.

* Agile or Scrum delivery.

* Defence, security, government or another regulated environment.

Security clearance

Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK BPSS and Security Check clearance. Existing clearance would be advantageous but is not essential for every appointment.

Applicants for SC clearance are normally expected to have lived in the UK for the previous five years. A shorter period of UK residency or time spent overseas will not automatically prevent clearance, but eligibility will be assessed individually by the sponsoring authority

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
