A leading financial services company is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join their innovative technology team, driving impactful solutions that shape the business's strategic goals. About the Role As a Data Scientist, you'll work in a dynamic team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts, applying your skills to solve diverse business challenges. Operating in an Agile environment with 2-week review cycles, you'll focus on delivering business value through Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that scale into robust solutions. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across various business functions, tackling problems in decision-making, pricing, intent, and monitoring, while communicating the power of data science to drive business impact.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about using data science to influence decisions, eager to innovate, and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Apply the data science product life cycle (design, exploratory data analysis, building, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance) to new projects.
Develop and maintain production-grade data science models, optimizing and upgrading them as needed.
Design scientific solutions to complex business challenges, working with diverse datasets (internal and third-party) and leveraging advanced machine learning or statistical modelling techniques.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and pricing teams to mature the organization's analytics practice.
Write high-quality Python code following industry best practices for model training and deployment.
Stay ahead of the curve by researching new techniques and technologies, sharing insights with the team.

Must-Haves

Experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a strong desire to learn.
Ability to conduct high-quality research independently or in small teams, delivering results in a timely manner.
Familiarity with version control and IT delivery tools.
Understanding of how to apply machine learning to solve business problems.
Experience developing predictive and prescriptive models (eg, predictive modelling, machine learning, or data mining) to deliver actionable business insights.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Willingness to adopt software development best practices.
Strong Python programming skills.
Experience with Test-Driven Development (eg, pytest or similar frameworks).

Nice-to-Haves

Graduate or postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or statistics.
Experience in data science within financial services, insurance, or E-commerce (not essential).
Familiarity with cloud-based deployment.
Knowledge of neural networks, TensorFlow, CatBoost, XGBoost, SKlearn, or Pandas.
Experience with API development.
Proficiency in SQL.
Background in software engineering or DevOps/MLOps.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
