JobTitle: Unreal TechnicalArtist

We are seeking apassionate Technical Artist with experience in Unreal Engine tojoin our innovative team. Your role will involve developingindustryleading art assets for use in digital twins and roboticsimulations to support the clean energy transition. You will beworking alongside our Engineering Machine Learning and Productteams to help produce photorealistic worlds for testing anddevelopment of autonomous underwater vehicles and training ofadvanced machine learning models.

Using toolingmade by our Engineering team you will help create rigged underwatervehicles for use in our simulation. Working with our clients youwill be taking their CAD models of offshore assets and convertingthem for use in our digital twin representation of an offshorewindfarm. Your responsibilities will include helping to define theart workflow across the various projects and working withcontractors and stakeholders to deliver highquality art asrequired.

Objectives& Responsibilities:

Vaarstis an exciting and dynamic environment meaning these are likely tochange as we grow your objectives and responsibilities willinclude:

  • You will be helping to definethe art pipelines from concept to productionreadyassets.
  • Using both scratch and shopboughtassets you will be involved in the entire art cycle of modellingtexturing and lighting of our 3D worlds.
  • Working with Unreal Editor tools to produceand upload movie renders to our AI training framework.
  • Using our Unrealenginebased systems you will help in the creation of differentrepresentations of realworld underwater vehicles and environmentsfor use in the simulation.
  • You will beresponsible for creating highquality rigged meshes and setting upand defining the placement of various sensors and trusters on saidmesh.


Youshould apply if you have:

(we knowits tough but please try to avoid the confidence gap. You dont haveto match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered forthis role):

  • At least 3 years ofexperience working with Unreal including Blueprints MaterialsLighting Movie Sequencer and Niagara particle effects or similarsystems
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous workfrom concept to delivery.
  • (Preferable)Experience using the Unreal Engine water plugin.
  • Understanding of camera settings and mimickingreallife cameras in Unreal.
  • Strong foundationsin Photoshop or equivalent image manipulation software.
  • Proficiency with at least one digital contentcreation package (Blender (preferrably) Maya 3DS Max etc).
  • Experience converting CAD models for useingame art workflows.

  • Develop a clear understanding of therendering Pipelines to be able to get the most out of theengine.
  • Using Profiling tools and to be able tooptimise content for users.
