The Facilities Training Service have an exciting opportunity to welcome a Training Facilitator to join their dedicated and highly motivated team.
The Facilities Teams play a vital role in supporting the smooth functioning of the hospital sites and ensuring a positive experience for staff, patients, and visitors alike.
This role will directly contribute to the development and growth of employees within the Division of Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for training and be dedicated to achieving the highest of standards of training excellence.
As a Training Facilitator, you will possess:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, and travel between multiple sites. Valid UK driving license. Understanding of NHS training standards (advantageous). A background in healthcare or a related field, while not essential, could be beneficial

Working closely with the Facilities Training Manager you will be responsible for:-
Onboarding New Starters: Responsible for welcoming and integrating new employees into the team. This includes conducting first-day inductions, covering essential information about the organisation, policies, and procedures. Delivering Functional and Mandatory Training: Providing specialised training for specific roles within the Facilities department, such as housekeepers, domestics, porters, and catering assistants. This training will cover the necessary skills and knowledge required for each role. Previous knowledge of these roles is not essential, however it would be advantageous. Working closely with the Facilities Training Manager to ensure the effective delivery of all training programs.

Job description
Job responsibilities
In the absence of the Facilities Manager, the post holder will monitorthe Facilities training inbox and respond and act upon any trainingrequirements in a timely manner.
Frequently deliver first day induction and functional training day twoand three for new employees, frequent requirement to demonstrate using physicaldemonstrations including lifting, pushing and pulling of wheelchairs, beds,trollies, scrubbing machines, regen trollies and any other equipment in linewith the moving and handling guidelines. At times, the Facilities Trainer willwork on wards mentoring new staff and staff with further training needs.
Design, develop and deliver refresher training including stop the job andtoolbox talks, daily cleaning/portering tasks on wards facilitating staffacross all three sites.
Deliver new training programmes in accordance with Trust guidelinesincluding the national standards of cleanliness and infection, prevention andcontrol.
Provide mortuary training which can be distressing when placing a patientin the mortuary fridge.
Provide training for resus and cardiac arrest situations which can bedistressing and emotional.
Provide support to colleagues being trained in circumstances that canrise from emotional or distressing situations.
Deliver customer care training in line with the Trust core values. Staffmay come across patients they are moving for diagnostic procedures when theyhave been given upsetting news.
To provide support and guidance to the other staff trainers includingcoaching and guiding newly trained trainers.
Excellent communication skills to motivate and mentor employees to ensurea supportive learning experience delivered to people with learning difficultiesand where English is not their first language.
Assist in developing the teams strategic plan.
Identify, implement and evaluate changes to training practices andprocedures in own working area, including training programmes and discussingthe reasons with the Facilities Training Manager.
Implement policies and propose practices and procedures for the FacilitiesTraining Department.
The Training Facilitator will be required to have the knowledge and technical ability to be able to undertake and teach staff the skills necessary to complete service delivery.

Ensure equipment used to deliver the service is of the standard required and is maintained to physical and technical standards.
Monitor the Facilities Training inbox and respond and act upon anytraining requirements co-ordinating with the line managers and organisationaldevelopment in a timely manner.
Process all onboarding passes for new operational Facilities teamemployees ensuring that the new employee has everything they need for day one.
To work without direct supervision and make day to day decisions withinown remit and to use own initiative when to refer to others.
Contribute to project activities in support of the Facilities Trainingteam objectives.
To be responsible for co-ordinating and booking venues and ensuringequipment is available for use.
To assist the Facilities Manager in all aspects of project implementationas needed.
Create and provide reports/training slides to the Training Manager usingMicrosoft packages.
Organise training with outside training providers specific to bespoketraining.
To support the Facilities Training Manager in planning and organisingtraining events within the operational services.
Take and prepare minutes for team meetings.
To maintain effective and efficient training documents and makerecommendations for improvement where appropriate.
Ensure all Facilitators are working and following all Trust policies andguidelines plus own departmental procedures.
Responsible for ordering non and stock items maintain and checking stocklevels to reduce financial resources.
Responsible for the safe and correct use of equipment used for trainingsuch as laptops, computers, scrubbing machines, steamers, beds, trollies,wheelchairs and regen ovens to reduce risk of damage.
Where facility services are busy, the Training Facilitators will berequired to support portering and domestic services either with cleaning ormoving patients.
The Training Facilitators need to be flexible with both office/VDU andtraining requirements of infrastructure staff. This may mean re-evaluation ofdaily schedules to be respondent to individual/manager and IPC needs on eithertraining or reports required.
