Technology Manager / Senior Developer (Greenfield FX Brokerage)

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative FX agency brokerage and play a pivotal role in transforming our technology landscape by designing and implementing a greenfield booking/workflow and PnL system from the ground up.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Developer/Manager to join our trading desk. This role is integral to our technology transformation journey, offering the chance to work closely with brokers/traders and immerse yourself in the business. Your goal is to architect, design, and implement a cutting-edge booking system that will redefine how we operate, bringing innovation and efficiency to our processes. You will manage a small existing team of 2 support/developers who develop and maintain the existing platform and with them transform the technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Architecture & Design: Lead the end-to-end design and development of a greenfield booking system tailored to our FX brokerage needs. The role offers the flexibility to explore and integrate advanced technologies, including AI and natural language processing, where appropriate, to drive innovation and enhance system capabilities.
  • Trader Collaboration:Work directly on the trading desk to understand the business, trader workflows, and the "language" of FX options.
  • Technology Leadership:Drive the adoption of contemporary Microsoft technologies to deliver scalable and robust solutions.
  • Business Transformation:Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Team Collaboration:Work cross-functionally with traders, middle office, back office, and technology.
  • Delivery Management: Oversee project timelines, ensure adherence to best practices, and deliver high quality results on schedule.

Required Skills & Experience

  • FX Expertise: Demonstrated experience working in an FX options environment with a deep understanding of market terminology, trading workflows, and product dynamics.
  • Technical Proficiency:Expert-level skills in contemporary Microsoft technologies such as .NET, Azure, C#, and SQL Server.
  • Architectural Acumen:Proven ability to architect and design complex systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Business Focus:Exceptional ability to immerse in the business, understand challenges, and deliver transformative solutions.
  • Hands-On Approach:Strong coding skills and a willingness to lead by example when necessary.
  • Leadership Qualities:Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders and guide teams effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with trading platforms, risk management systems, and regulatory requirements in the FX domain.
  • Previous experience in a front-office role or working directly with traders. Agile/Scrum experience.
