Lumachain is a high profile, well-funded AI scale-up, headquartered in Sydney Australia, and with teams around the world. We work with many of the world’s leading protein and food processors, as well as with leading Quick Service Restaurant brands and retailers.

Our mission is to change how our food is produced, for good. We do this by implementing our Computer Vision-based AI platform inside food and protein production plants. This platform allows cameras to “see, learn and act” like humans do. Our platform helps improve safety (both for food and the employees who produce it), quality, yields and efficiency within production facilities. We also provide end-to-end traceability from farm to fork.

  • Manage local partner relationships for suppliers needed to help install our solutions.
  • Provide the voice of our customer to our internal development and technical teams.
  • Coordinate a range of stakeholders, including customers, software development teams and 3rd party vendors (including camera and network installers who physically install the equipment for us) and others, to deliver the right solution.
  • Work with contractors and the customers’ on-site IT and site management teams.
  • Accountable for User Acceptance Testing process with the customer and internal AI team
  • Working with integrating our system into the customer’s workflow.

  • Your core responsibility is to ensure our AI platform is rolled out at customer facilities on time, to budget, and to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Because each facility will have its own nuanced requirements, you will need to work closely with customer stakeholders to understand their needs, map these to our capabilities, agree a final scope, and then work with the customer team, our AI and software teams and 3rd party partners to ensure the solution is effectively delivered to a high level of accuracy and quality.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in AI Job Applications (UK Guide)

Hiring managers do not start by reading your CV line-by-line. They scan for signals. This guide breaks down what hiring managers typically look for first in AI applications in the UK market, how to present it on your CV, LinkedIn & portfolio, and the most common reasons strong candidates get overlooked. Use it as a checklist to tighten your application before you click apply.

The Skills Gap in AI Jobs: What Universities Aren’t Teaching

Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept. It is already reshaping how businesses operate, how decisions are made, and how entire industries compete. From finance and healthcare to retail, manufacturing, defence, and climate science, AI is embedded in critical systems across the UK economy. Yet despite unprecedented demand for AI talent, employers continue to report severe recruitment challenges. Vacancies remain open for months. Salaries rise year on year. Candidates with impressive academic credentials often fail technical interviews. At the heart of this disconnect lies a growing and uncomfortable truth: Universities are not fully preparing graduates for real-world AI jobs. This article explores the AI skills gap in depth—what is missing from many university programmes, why the gap persists, what employers actually want, and how jobseekers can bridge the divide to build a successful career in artificial intelligence.
