We are looking for aTechnical Product Managerto join our growing team.

This role is suitable for an engineer or data scientist who wants to transition into product management. We require a keen interest in product management and design, prior product management experience is a nice-to-have.

Summary

We are nPlan, a top Google Ventures-backed Series A AI startup, on a mission to change how major construction projects are planned, managed and executed. We hope that nPlan's game-changing technology can empower project teams to adopt and harness AI and deliver faster, cheaper projects.

At nPlan, we no longer want unknown risks to hold back innovation in the construction sector, and believe our AI technology can enable our clients to build faster, cheaper and more adventurous projects than ever before.

We're already working with some of the largest infrastructure projects in the world (think HS2, Neom, Heathrow), which means an opportunity for you to have a significant impact on the world around us, and improve what it will look like in the future, from the very first day.

As our technology is evolving into the realm of generative AI, we are looking for a Technical Product Manager. You will be the bridge between our cutting edge R&D and the product team, discovering and prototyping new features that make our products more valuable to our customers. Reporting to the product Chapter Lead with a dotted line to Data Science, you will own our ambitious roadmap to deliver on AI features that help our customers save millions of dollars and give them recommendations on how to best take action on our forecasts.

Here's what we offer:

  • Competitive base salary of £65-£75k (dependent on experience) along with a generous equity package.
  • Flexible working hours and remote working, with core hours of 10am-3pm GMT Mon-Fri.
  • Central London Shoreditch-based office to use as required
  • Enhanced benefits package including unlimited holiday leave, remote working, private medical insurance, enhanced family and sick leave policies and much more.
  • Opportunities for significant ownership and direct exposure to all areas of the business.
  • A collaborative, inclusive environment with a commitment to diversity.

About the role:

You'll be joining the product team to ideate and manage the creation of new features and workflows primarily driven by machine learning, generative AI, large language models, and data science methodologies, with a keen eye for how our users will benefit from them.

  • Data science and prototyping
    • Translate user questions and user feedback into exciting prototypes
    • Bring experiments and MVPs to product, supporting our engineering team in building services in Google Cloud Platform
    • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, designers and product managers to prototype and iterate on valuable ways of showing our data
  • Feature discovery
    • Together with our customer success, product and design teams, conduct user research on how to make the presentations of our data more intuitive to our users - particularly around explaining probabilistic concepts
    • Support the product and design team on technical feasibility questions for new features
    • Determine how new developments in AI can improve our product offering
    • Discover how to make generative AI usable to our customers
  • Product management and delivery
    • Own the full life cycle of discovery, prototyping, delivery for genAI and data science driven features
    • Develop and maintain the roadmap of genAI product features within nPlan in collaboration with R&D and data science
    • Work with the engineering teams to deliver the features that you discovered
    • Own the backlog (we currently work in a Kanban-inspired delivery system), and prioritise the backlog with the tech leads

About you:

  • Proficiency in Python and associated Data Science libraries and tools
  • Experience in self-driven exploration of datasets and building prototypes using tools such as streamlit, gradio, dash, plotly or similar
  • Experience in communication of complex data visualisations and data insights to stakeholders
  • Ability to align stakeholders around a plan or roadmap
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make difficult prioritisation decisions with limited information
  • Experience working with engineering teams, designers and product managers to solve user problems
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with the ability to travel within the UK and internationally if required.
  • You have an eye for details. If you've read this far, mention the word “crane” in your application :-)
  • Interest in generative AI, product management and design

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in a product management role
  • Experience working on LLM-based products
  • Experience with working on cloud based services such as GCP, Azure or AWS

What working at nPlan will be like:

  • We are still a relatively small team so there is plenty of opportunity for a high degree of ownership over different areas of the product, and you will be directly exposed to all areas of the business.
  • Your voice will always be heard. What you do or say counts, not who you are or where you're from.
  • We have three core values that underlie everything we do: Learn from Everything, Be Radically Truthful, and Aim High, Run Fast. These enable us to create a collaborative, inclusive environment where we can move effectively and efficiently to implement the best solutions.
  • We are a cross-disciplinary team, and come from all backgrounds and countries.
  • Fantastic benefits package for Health & Wellbeing, Learning & Development, family leave, monthly team meals and more.
  • We are committed to addressing the diversity problem in the tech industry, and that starts with making sure we have a diverse team where everyone feels at home and can contribute as an equal.
  • Having time to yourself and a private life is important. We offer a very flexible work environment and a generous holiday policy.
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

How to Write an AI CV that Beats ATS (UK examples)

Writing an AI CV for the UK market is about clarity, credibility, and alignment. Recruiters spend seconds scanning the top third of your CV, while Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) check for relevant skills & recent impact. Your goal is to make both happy without gimmicks: plain structure, sharp evidence, and links that prove you can ship to production. This guide shows you exactly how to do that. You’ll get a clean CV anatomy, a phrase bank for measurable bullets, GitHub & portfolio tips, and three copy-ready UK examples (junior, mid, research). Paste the structure, replace the details, and tailor to each job ad.

AI Recruitment Trends 2025 (UK): What Job Seekers Must Know About Today’s Hiring Process

This guide explains what’s changed, what to expect in interviews, and how to prepare—especially for LLM application, MLOps/platform, data science, AI product & safety roles. Who this is for: AI/ML engineers, LLM engineers, data scientists, MLOps/platform engineers, AI product managers, applied researchers & safety/governance specialists targeting roles in the UK.

Why AI Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Artificial intelligence is no longer a single-discipline pursuit. In the UK, employers increasingly want talent that can code and communicate, model and manage risk, experiment and empathise. That shift is reshaping job descriptions, training pathways & career progression. AI is touching regulated sectors, sensitive user journeys & public services — so the work now sits at the crossroads of computer science, law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design. This isn’t a buzzword-driven change. It’s happening because real systems are deployed in the wild where people have rights, needs, habits & constraints. As models move from lab demos to products that diagnose, advise, detect fraud, personalise education or generate media, teams must align performance with accountability, safety & usability. The UK’s maturing AI ecosystem — from startups to FTSE 100s, consultancies, the public sector & universities — is responding by hiring multidisciplinary teams who can anticipate social impact as confidently as they ship features. Below, we unpack the forces behind this change, spotlight five disciplines now fused with AI roles, show what it means for UK job-seekers & employers, and map practical steps to future-proof your CV.
