Building the foundational AI model for 3D understanding - what LLMs did for language, we're doing for 3D.

Location:Remote-first / London

Compensation:Equity-first (co-founder level); competitive salary post-raise

Commitment:Full-time

Spatial Intelligence is building a single AI model that understands the structure, content, and function of the 3D world - from simple video inputs, without manual labels.

This enables deep understanding of objects, spaces, and their relationships - all with a single model. What LLMs did for language, we’re doing for 3D.

Our foundational approach unlocks new applications across architecture, gaming, and robotics - without retraining.

We're a deep-tech spinout entering pre-seed, with proof of concept and early commercial validation. We’re now building the founding R&D team that will define the future of spatial understanding in AI.

AsTechnical Co-founder, you’ll drive core research and help shape our technical strategy from the ground up. You’ll be a key player in:

  • Closing our pre-seed round
  • Building a lean, world-class research team
  • Designing and delivering our 18-month foundational research sprint
  • Translating research into scalable systems and products

This is a rare opportunity to co-found a technically ambitious company at the edge of 3D vision, self-supervised learning, and embodied intelligence.

  • Co-lead the development of ourcore learning pipeline: object-centric, geometry grounded, and self-supervised.
  • Research and prototype geometry-aware models for object discovery, function inference, and relational understanding.
  • Build scalable infrastructure fortraining foundational models on RGB videoand 3D simulations.
  • Collaborate on data curation and augmentation strategies for visual and spatial diversity.
  • Translate early research intoproduction-ready componentsfor downstream 3D automation and robotics use cases.
  • Engage with technical advisors, research partners, and early commercial stakeholders.
  • Hire, mentor, and grow ahigh-agency research team.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Founder mindset:driven by ownership, curiosity, and long-term vision.
  • 4+ years of experience in deep learning, computer vision, or robotics - ideally in research settings (PhD not required, but welcomed).
  • Experience withself-supervised learning, vision transformers, and 3D perception.
  • Familiarity withobject-centric representation learning, scene understanding, or vision world modelsis a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability tobuild and iterate quicklyin low-resource startup environments.
  • Strong Python, PyTorch , and GPU-based training experience.
  • Comfortable balancingresearch depthwithpragmatic delivery.
  • Co-founder equityin a frontier AI company.
  • The chance todefine a new fieldat the intersection of 3D perception and general intelligence.
  • Early influence onteam, culture, and architecture.
  • The chance to publish and speak - if you want visibility, we’ll support it.

We're looking for someone exceptional - and we’re open-minded about backgrounds. If this mission resonates and you believe you’re a fit, even if you don’t meet 100% of the criteria:please reach out.

Send a short intro + your GitHub, portfolio, or CV to

Tell us why this speaks to you.

We’re on a mission to build theintelligence layer for 3D- the same way LLMs became the intelligence layer for language.

We believe the next frontier is spatial - andwhoever builds the first true general-purpose 3D model will power the future of digital and physical systems. We’re building that future.

How Many AI Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an AI Job?

If you are job hunting in AI right now it can feel like you are drowning in tools. Every week there is a new framework, a new “must-learn” platform or a new productivity app that everyone on LinkedIn seems to be using. The result is predictable: job seekers panic-learn a long list of tools without actually getting better at delivering outcomes. Here is the truth most hiring managers will quietly agree with. They do not hire you because you know 27 tools. They hire you because you can solve a problem, communicate trade-offs, ship something reliable and improve it with feedback. Tools matter, but only in service of outcomes. So how many AI tools do you actually need to know? For most AI job seekers: fewer than you think. You need a tight core toolkit plus a role-specific layer. Everything else is optional. This guide breaks it down clearly, gives you a simple framework to choose what to learn and shows you how to present your toolset on your CV, portfolio and interviews.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in AI Job Applications (UK Guide)

Hiring managers do not start by reading your CV line-by-line. They scan for signals. In AI roles especially, they are looking for proof that you can ship, learn fast, communicate clearly & work safely with data and systems. The best applications make those signals obvious in the first 10–20 seconds. This guide breaks down what hiring managers typically look for first in AI applications in the UK market, how to present it on your CV, LinkedIn & portfolio, and the most common reasons strong candidates get overlooked. Use it as a checklist to tighten your application before you click apply.

The Skills Gap in AI Jobs: What Universities Aren’t Teaching

Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept. It is already reshaping how businesses operate, how decisions are made, and how entire industries compete. From finance and healthcare to retail, manufacturing, defence, and climate science, AI is embedded in critical systems across the UK economy. Yet despite unprecedented demand for AI talent, employers continue to report severe recruitment challenges. Vacancies remain open for months. Salaries rise year on year. Candidates with impressive academic credentials often fail technical interviews. At the heart of this disconnect lies a growing and uncomfortable truth: Universities are not fully preparing graduates for real-world AI jobs. This article explores the AI skills gap in depth—what is missing from many university programmes, why the gap persists, what employers actually want, and how jobseekers can bridge the divide to build a successful career in artificial intelligence.
