Join the UK’s leading Trade Kitchen Supplier as a Sustainability Data Analyst based in our Howden office in East Riding of Yorkshire with a blend of home and office working.  This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in this hands-on analytical role.  In this role you will provide central oversight of ESG data (primarily climate related emissions) to the Sustainability team, key stakeholders and external organisations who work with and support the ESG and sustainability function and would suit a Data Analyst who is ambitious to develop and work in a commercial environment. 

Reporting to the Sustainability and ESG Programme Lead, our Sustainability Data Analyst role involves establishing and improving processes and controls for ESG data collection, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and validation; and measurement whilst transforming the complex data into models to drive sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with reporting regulations (TCFD/ISSB/CSRD) and supporting our journey to Net Zero.

    What you’ll be doing as a Sustainability Data Analyst

  • Gathering, organising and analysing all submitted data relating to carbon emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3, material use and carbon foot-printing, waste management, and supply chain sustainability across all our business functions in the UK and Europe.
  • Establishing processes and controls, developing a “one source of truth” for all sustainability data to ensure transparency and consistency in reporting
  • Ensuring adherence and compliance to ESG reporting standards and frameworks, assisting in the preparation of sustainability reports including Annual reports.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business, particularly Safety, Health and Environment, procurement, business data and systems, finance and audit colleagues ensuring data accuracy, consistency and timeliness identifying gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Conducting audits and verification of sustainability data to ensure integrity and compliance
  • Maintaining and developing sustainability performance dashboards and reports.
  • Assessing sources of data and identifying appropriate suitable systems
  • Presenting comprehensive data and reports in an understandable and visual way to highlight progress, concerns and opportunities for improvement
  • Providing data for supplier, investor, customer ESG platforms and questionnaires
  • Identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in environmental impact reduction using data collection and reporting processes
  • Proactively collaborating with stakeholders to develop and identify new opportunities to keep progressing the Net Zero agenda and other Sustainability requirements

    What you’ll need to bring as a Sustainability Data Analyst

  • Degree educated ideally within a sustainability related field or similar e.g. Environment and Sustainability, Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics or Risk Management.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in validation or audit of the accuracy of data submissions ideally gained within a Sustainability Data role.
  • Able to demonstrate capability of conducting quantitative and qualitative research
  • Experience in data analysis and database management
  • Able to produce comprehensive reports in ESG performance
  • Understanding of regulatory and voluntary sustainability frameworks, standards and reporting such GHG principles, ISSB, TCFD, CDP etc
  • A strong passion and interest in sustainable climate related research and analytics
  • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Has a flexible approach to work and can respond to changing demands and priorities
  • Articulate and confident communicator
  • Sustainability software & Computer literate
  • Self-starter who can confidently manage own workload and projects
  • Ideally you would have a good knowledge of global supply chains and sustainable practices in timber building or construction and SAP BI, but these aren’t essential.
