The role

SurrealDB is on the lookout for aSolutionsEngineerto empower our sales team and drive customer adoption of SurrealDB as the database of choice for modern applications.

This crucial role involves partnering with the sales team to provide technical expertise, build compelling demonstrations and guide customers through successful integrations of SurrealDB into their applications. As you will be joining at an early stage you will have an out-sized opportunity to contribute to growing the company and creating a lasting impact.

What you'll be doing

  • Ownership for technical pre-sales activities, including discovery meetings, product demonstrations and proof-of-concept implementations
  • Responsible for creating and delivering compelling technical presentations and demonstrations tailored to specific customer needs
  • Leading on technical discussions with prospective customers, addressing their questions and concerns about SurrealDB"s capabilities and suitability
  • Documenting customer requirements, technical specifications, and integration plans for SurrealDB implementations
  • Building customised demos and proof-of-concepts to showcase SurrealDB"s unique features and benefits in the context of customer applications
  • Planning and executing technical workshops and training sessions for customers and partners
  • Contributing to sales enablement materials, such as technical documentation, white papers and case studies

About you

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud database technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB Atlas, DynamoDB, BigTable) and their application in modern software architectures
  • Proven experience of pre-sales engineering or solutions consulting for enterprise software products for at least 10 years preferably at a cloud database or related company
  • Strong technical background in database administration, query optimization and data modeling
  • Experience in building and deploying scalable web applications using modern frameworks and technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of data integration (ELT/ETL), API design, security best practices, data science, machine learning and UX frameworks
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with SurrealDB or a strong willingness to learn and become an expert is essential

We enjoy working and collaborating together and require people to be in our Oxford Street office three days a week on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
