NELFT are delighted to offer this opportunity to join the Maidstone Children and Young People Mental Health Sing Point of Access. Working together with the provider collaborative, local commissioners, and in-line with national drivers, we deliver high quality care in the community, hospital and at home, in-line with what young people need, at the right time, and in the right place. 

This assistant psychologist post is a full time position in Maidstone SPA. You will work closely with a fully skilled and highly specialist team of clinicians.

Main duties of the job

This post would be attractive for somebody who is passionate about young people’s mental health and is excited and motivated by the opportunity to develop a centre of excellence. You will be joining a well-established, skilled, team, including: nurses, OT, and social workers. Our ambitious and innovative clinical model ensures that each young person and their carers receive the care that fits their individual needs.

Process new referrals sent from SPA screener

Send WPS’s by email

Generate and process WPS scores form WPS website

Send e-conners 4 and request automated online scoring

Document on progress notes, open referrals to NLDS SPA and code

Generate and email outcome letters to referrer, CYP parent/care and GP

Transfer referrals to locality for ADHD prescribing

Score Vanderbilts and SNAPs

Reply to appeals requesting additional information supporting the initial referral

Responding to ad-hoc clinical emails

Undertake Autism and ADHD clinical reviews

Working for our organisation

Starting with NELFT 

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
