Full time ( hours per week) Band 5 rotational physiotherapist

Are you due to qualify physiotherapist or an experienced Band 5 looking to build on your experience? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our friendly and supportive well established NELFT band 5 rotational scheme within the Borough of Redbridge. 

Your caseload will be varied and interesting, rotating through various Teams within Redbridge : Respiratory service, Intermediate care, stroke and neuro service and Reablement Service.

Our community rehab team assesses housebound adults within their home environment. By assessing people within their home environment, we are in a good position to significantly improve people's quality of life and promote independence at home. we work jointly working with social services, Occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, specialist nurses and the other MDT members of our integrated teams, making this a very rewarding carer pathway.

You will be supported by experienced senior therapists to provide a competent standard physiotherapy assessment, based on clinical findings, and develop and implement an individualised treatment programme to maximise patient potential.

Main duties of the job

Our services are committed to providing an excellent environment for professional growth and offers regular training, supervision and support for career progression including the NELFT preceptorship programme for all Newly qualified health professionals that encourages development and collaborative working with a variety of clinical staff.

The post holder will hold a relevant clinical qualification to degree level or equivalent in Physiotherapy.

They are required to assist in the education, training support and day to day management of support workers and rehabilitation assistants under the guidance of a more senior member of staff.

The main responsibilities of the post are:

1. To participate in the Band 5 rotational scheme across 4 teams listed above in the communty, 

2. To perform a competent assessment of patients, including those with multiple pathologies, using clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to formulate a diagnosis based on the clinical findings of their condition. Working with access to direct supervision from a more senior physiotherapist.

3. To develop and provide an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on best evidence-based practice, the treatment options may include the use of manual techniques, exercise classes, electrotherapy techniques and other alternate options.

Working for our organisation

Starting with NELFT 

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.
