This is an opportunity for an experienced, customer-facing engineer to work with Slamcore’s growing worldwide customer base to help them understand the value of our products and how best to use them.

The top line

We are looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role representing Slamcore and working with our growing customer base to deploy our cutting-edge, spatial AI technology. As a part of our highly skilled team, you will be working on technologies including AI, computer vision, SLAM on low power, embedded devices.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who is passionate about making sure our customers get the best out of our products for their use cases. For the right candidate there is also the opportunity to take on leadership of the team as it continues to grow.

The day-to-day

  • Consult with customers during pre-sales activities ensuring Slamcore products provide the right solution.
  • Design, build and present demonstrations showcasing our product capabilities.
  • Customise software solutions to meet identified customer requirements as part of integration and deployment.
  • Manage and support multiple customer projects and sales opportunities.
  • Provide in-person and remote support to customers using our products.
  • Work closely with commercial, product and engineering teams to help identify, scope and prioritise solutions to the highest value challenges our customers have.
  • Travel to customer sites (approximately 25% of the time, mostly within Europe and the US).
  • Support marketing activities, e.g., blogs, case studies and trade shows.

The must-haves

  • Experience working with embedded computer systems in industrial settings.
  • Comfortable working across the full software stack (e.g., C++, Python, ReactJS, HTML, etc.).
  • Able to demonstrate system level understanding from low-level hardware to end user applications.
  • Demonstrated experience of working directly with multiple customers to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong time management and preparation skills.
  • Able to interact with customers from high level use case to low level technical details.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable analysing, interpreting and presenting complex data.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for extensive periods of time.

The nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with computer vision and ideally visual SLAM.
  • Familiarity with robotics (AMRs and AGVs).
  • Familiarity with cloud compute deployments.
  • Experience working in a start-up.
  • Experience of building and leading a team.
