WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our Manchester office.

What you’ll do…

  • Design, develop, and deploy software solutions to solve complex business problems.

  • Analyse large datasets to extract meaningful insights and identify patterns. Optimise software algorithms for performance and scalability.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in software engineering and incorporate new techniques into projects.

  • Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to integrate software solutions into products.

  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of software designs, algorithms, and processes.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of deployed software, making necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.

What you’ll bring…

We are looking for a seasoned and adaptable individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and is eager to learn new skills and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess:

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges.

  • Java with SpringBoot or similar frameworks

  • Kubernetes and container management

  • Docker

  • Distributed and scalable applications principles

  • Building RESTful services and Web UI

  • Exposure to continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines and test automation

  • Exposure to public cloud infrastructure, data streaming and Spanner DB

  • Experience coaching and mentoring teams to adopt the latest techniques.

Desirable Skills:

  • Up to date with the latest research and advancements in machine learning.

  • ReactJS or knowledge of JavaScript, Nodejs, TypeScript

  • Knowledge and experience of working in heavily regulated environments (e.g., finance).

  • Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for deploying machine learning models.
