Our Team

The Model Risk and Analytics (MRA) team, work at the intersection of Data Science, Statistical Modelling and Economics, using data to support the business through model building or providing actionable insights from the data. As part of the IFRS9 and Stress Testing team, you’ll help secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing qualitative and quantitative analysis across our model suites. 

Reporting directly to the Head of IFRS9 and Stress Testing, you will play a critical role in shaping our risk modelling strategy, enhancing issue resolution, and driving actionable business insights.

What you’ll be doing

  • Operate as a modelling expert across all modelling projects and wider business development.
  • Leading initiatives to continuously improve methodologies, processes, and standards within the IFRS9 and Stress Testing Team.
  • Directing delivery of modelling projects across diverse portfolios, adapting to changing demands and priorities.
  • Delivering detailed technical challenges across retail and business banking portfolios, ensuring models are robust and aligned with best practices.
  • Collaborating with teams to capture and analyse data, delivering actionable business insights through analytics, modelling, and monitoring.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to support model usage across the Bank, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Responding to PRA feedback and driving the execution of remediation plans to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate across IFRS9 and Stress Testing teams to provide targeted insights, leveraging analytics, modelling, and monitoring to inform decision-making. 

We need you to have

  • Significant expertise in model risk management and advanced modelling techniques, with deep industry wide knowledge.
  • Proven leadership experience, including resource management, performance coaching and team development in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced understanding of risk appetite, regulatory frameworks (including PRA feedback), and organisational structures, and systems.
  • High level qualification in Mathematics/Statistics or Economics with specialist knowledge in modelling and credit decisioning techniques.
  • Ability to interpret complex data to drive business insight and effective decision-making.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Familiarity with the Bank’s risk appetite, regulatory frameworks, credit processes and organisational systems
  • Expertise in building trusted relationships and effectively resolving conflicts with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proven track record in managing and delivering complex projects in fast-moving environments.
