The Senior Platform Engineer will represent Ntegra, working directly with our high-profile public and private sector clients. Our Platform Engineers are responsible for the development and deployment of automation solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform and coding languages including Bash and PowerShell, as well as the management of cloud-based platforms, such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. The Senior Platform Engineer work with infrastructure as code, containerisation, and modern CI/CD practices. They will also work with other members of the team to develop and implement DevOps practices, and mentor more junior team members internally.


Initial Project Responsibilities

  • Diverse assignments spanning modern cloud and data infrastructure, from modernising legacy systems into cloud-native architectures to building and maintaining robust data platforms across multiple cloud providers.
  • Implementation of secure data processing environments for classified information, create automated deployment pipelines for data applications and ML models, and design comprehensive multi-cloud solutions with robust monitoring systems.
  • Leading technical transformation initiatives, working closely with data engineering teams to support their infrastructure needs, implement DataOps practices, and collaborate with data scientists to optimise infrastructure for their workloads, ensuring smooth operations and high performance across all platforms.
  • Implementation of security best practice and government security standards.


Wider Responsibilities:

  • Client facing project work in the private and public sector. (Requirement for UK Government Security Clearance.)
  • Development and deployment of automated solutions using IAC tooling to automate the provisioning, configuration and deployment of IT infrastructure.
  • Management of cloud-based platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and less often, GCP to ensure that they are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Working with other members of the Engineering and Architecture team to develop and implement DevOps practices.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting IT infrastructure to ensure that it is performing as expected.
  • Mentoring junior team members and knowledge sharing / thought leadership
  • Staying up to date on the latest technologies and trends in IT infrastructure and sharing updates with the team.


Technical Skill Requirements

  • Strong experience with AWS (essential), Azure and GCP (desirable.)
  • A background in DevOps / IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Packer, Bash, PowerShell and Lambda.
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices and workflows.

  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, including resolving issues and identifying new opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Much of our client work is in Defence so the candidate must be eligible and willing to apply for, or already hold, SC Clearance.


Education/Experience

  • Either a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Consultancy or client facing experience desirable, or the ability to confidently communicate with senior stakeholders.
