Working for a specialist travel company, the Senior Paid Search Manager / Performance Marketing Lead / Senior Digital Marketing Manager role involves bringing Paid Search in-house and managing it directly, across the UK, Europe and North America.


This is a profitable private company. They’re on the FT list of fastest growing European companies and they place huge importance on Paid Search. They dominate their market in the UK but there’s a huge growth opportunity in Europe and the US.


This role involves building and optimising paid search and paid social campaigns across all territories, working with in-country translation specialists as required, to deliver profitable customer and revenue growth. Their current annual spend is £2m, but there’s a limitless budget where there’s ROI. The role reports directly to the CEO.


This is a fully remote (UK) role with quarterly meetups, usually in London / Southeast.


The Senior Paid Search Manager / Performance Marketing Lead / Senior Digital Marketing Manager will:

  • Own all performance marketing activities, launching & optimising campaigns locally and internationally
  • Maximise productivity through automation and feed integration
  • Rapidly identify high-potential ideas via a ‘test and learn’ approach
  • Build a plan and global expansion, targeting local search engines as appropriate
  • Implement monitoring tools and build the process/reports for analysing PPC performance
  • Balance revenue/lead growth with acceptable ROI levels appropriate to market entry stage and LTV
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, SEO and content as needed to deliver campaigns
  • Work closely with other channels to achieve business goals, encompassing cannibalisation, keyword opportunities and ad copy
  • Make data-driven decisions based on metrics, industry insights, market trends, and the competitive landscape


Candidates for the Senior Paid Search Manager / Performance Marketing Lead / Senior Digital Marketing Manager role must have:

  • Expert level hands-on paid search experience, agency or client side
  • Large spend budget experience, £4-5m+ per annum.
  • B2C / D2C transactional eCommerce experience from any sectors, e.g. retail, travel, media, airlines, price comparison, marketplaces, gambling, etc
  • Happy being hands-on, managing and optimising campaigns themselves directly as a senior IC
  • International campaign experience, European or ideally North America
  • Experience of SA360
  • Very strong numeracy and comfort with date, ideally numeracy/STEM degree or equivalent experience.
