JOB TITLE: Senior Machine Learning & AI Engineer

SALARY: £70,929 - £78,810 

LOCATION: Leeds 

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re looking for a strategic and technically minded Lead Data & AI scientist to join our Homes Platform AI Team.

As a Senior Data & AI Scientist, you will leverage AI and machine learning to gain insights, make predictions, and aid decision-making. You will ensure ethical considerations and accuracy are upheld while delivering optimized models ready for production. Your work will contribute to solving complex business problems and improving operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver solutions.

Collecting, processing, and analysing data from various sources and ensure ethical use of data in all projects.

Performing statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns.

Developing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms.

Continuously improving models and processes for better performance.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Hands on development Experience in Modelling

Advanced proficiency in Python (including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)

 Strong understanding of feature engineering, model selection, evaluation metrics, optimisation techniques and Gen AI.

Ability to apply complex statistical methods and design experiments.

Familiarity with GCP cloud environment for deploying ML solutions.

Ability to understand complex business requirements and create business ready solutions

Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, particularly the ability to convey business information arising from technical subject matter to non-technical people.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

Exposure to Generative AI and emerging AI technologies.

Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).

Insights into industry solutions for data management, storage, and analytics

Experience of working within regulatory change would be advantageous, including Credit Risk, capital and impairment processes

Experience of line management
