The role of an experienced Senior Insight Manager will sit within the Customer Strategy, Insight & experience team and will report into the Head of Commercial & Operational Insight to deliver clear and actionable insight to the business. The key focus of the role is to translate data driven analyses into actionable insight and driving decisions and action through senior stakeholders in the business. These will cover a broad range of areas from customer analytics, drivers of trading performance and market intelligence to demographic and geospatial analysis.


The Senior Insight Manager will work with the business stakeholders to understand their business challenges and requirements for insight, ensuring the analyses produced answer the business questions comprehensively and clearly, articulating the ‘so what’ of all analysis. This role is suitable for an individual with commercial and retail insight experience, who understands the value of data and insight and is able to develop and effectively communicate data driven insight in a simple but impactful language and visuals that can be understood by non-technical audiences.

As a growth role this offers the applicant the opportunity to increase their technical and commercial awareness and take their stakeholder management skills to the next level. Key Responsibilities:

 

Thought Leadership:

  • Based on an understanding of Currys’ strategic objectives, contribute to the development of Market, Customer and competitor strategy
  • Support the category squads on identifying growth opportunities

 

Impact from Insight:

  • Understand business needs and the requirements of internal customers ensuring
  • Working with existing and new partners to develop an understanding on market and Currys performance in new areas eg New categories B2B and Services
  • Deliver insight and recommend actions to support New categories and B2B growth ambitions
  • By development of an approach to delivering insight projects, ensuring they meet the brief
  • Collaborate with Customer insights team to join up what our customers say with how they behave, ensuring the so what & why are explained to stakeholders 
  • Articulate the benefits driven by using customer data in decision making building business cases through insight which lead to profitable growth

 

Stakeholder and Relationship Management:

  • Build strong relationships across the business to drive the action through insight and be able to explain clear paths to activation, influence business decisions at Head of GLT & ExCo level
  • Work with category squads and challenge those teams to manage share growth, identifying areas of opportunities and recommended actions
  • Stakeholder management: build relationships with business teams, channel owners
  • Influence people, decision makers and teams and drive changes in existing processes (where needed), activation of insight, delivery of value from data through cross functional working 
  • Be able to work across teams (Commercial, Retail, Currys Insight team, eCommerce, BI, Analytics) and business functions to influence the use data and activate recommendations

 

Required Skills & Experience:
 

  • Experience in an analytical / insight generation role, preferably with a background in CPG or Retail sector
  • Excellent commercial awareness and strategic sense
  • Good understanding of UK retail landscape
  • Familiarity with Analysis techniques as well as data-driven solution design and development
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to break down and structure complex problems
  • Ability to flex written and verbal communication to the needs of non-technical audience
  • Ability to articulate data-driven insight and generate actionable recommendations 
  • Experience working across several different stakeholders including senior leadership and data analytics professionals
  • Excellent PowerPoint & Excel skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity 
  • Experience of working in Retail / FMCG sector
  • Business degree or other qualifications (ACA, CIMA, ACII) beneficial
  • Professional qualifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, Insights beneficial
