Hackney Council is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Technical Services Team within Corporate Building Maintenance & Compliance to deliver an effective, reliable, customer focused service.
The role will provide expert and technical advice on the design, condition, capacity, suitability and statutory compliance monitoring of electrical installations, plant and equipment and advising stakeholders. The role supports the Technical Services Manager in managing the work of the team to ensure that buildings are maintained to agreed standards. Using electrical engineering knowledge and a high level of technical expertise, you will carry out a critical role, ensuring that Hackney Council can deliver its services and meet corporate objectives throughout the Corporate estate. The estate comprises around 600 properties, including buildings in various sectors, including commercial offices, libraries, community halls, temporary accommodation and the voluntary sector.
You will be responsible for scheduling and supervising all contract works, including inspections, reactive repairs, maintenance plans and the repairs & maintenance programme, procuring and managing repairs and maintenance on capital projects and providing a specialist technical and professional role on major projects.
You are required to have a relevant degree in Electrical Building Services engineering or postgraduate qualification or equivalent relevant experience. It is desirable to have membership of an appropriate professional body such as The Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
