Senior Data Scientist or Senior Economist Location:UK, London Length: Start: Asap – End: 15/01/2026 Rate: £135kAnnually (Inside IR35) Hours: 9am-6pm Overview The Global AffairsConsumer Insights pod is part of the Conversation Consumer Insightsteam and sits within the broader Data & Insights organizationwithin. Our pod serves as a strategic partner to the Global Affairsteam (made of the Communications and Public Policy teams) andleverages data and economic analysis, as well as market research toproduce the analysis and evidence underpinning and enhancing ourexternal positions. Our work also contributes to strengtheningrelationships and building credibility with regulators and keystakeholders. The Senior Economist role focuses on economic impactmodeling, applying economic principles and analysis to policyissues and research. Responsibilities: - Develop a roadmap foreconomic research spanning key policy issues and serving PublicPolicy teams globally - Oversee and produce a rigorous economicanalysis of policy issues across a wide spectrum of topics relevantto the digital media and entertainment sector, including modelingthe impact of regulations and proposing alternative options toreach policy outcomes. - Design and apply the appropriatemethodologies for varied economic assessments - Scale our economicimpact reporting efforts in relevant markets. Build and owneconomic impact models using the input/output approach. Familiaritywith direct, indirect, and induced economic impact modeling. - Workclosely with the Data Science and Engineering teams to lead theexperimentation of innovative approaches to analysis. Developmetrics as needed. - Serve as the primary point of contact foreconomic requests for Global Affairs teams - Coordinate and buildpartnerships with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to build,strengthen, and scale our economic function - Work independentlyand proactively to deliver high-quality work on time Yourbackground and characteristics: - Minimum 10 years of experienceand background in economics, data science, statistics, or advanceddata analysis, with increasing responsibilities. This can includeexperience with a regulator, economic consultancy, and otherrelated fields - Proven experience in working in a global role andoperating across different regions with a high degree of culturalawareness - Ability to quickly absorb large amounts of data andinformation to grasp complex policy issues in great detail -Flexible and strategic thinker, able to focus on long-term goals,apply economic concepts to policy challenges, and test newapproaches. - Robust analytical skills complemented by excellentverbal and written communication skills in order to articulatecomplex problems clearly and concisely - Familiarity witheconometrics principles and ability to manipulate large data setsand build advanced models. Familiarity with economic impactmodeling is a must (50%+ of the focus for this role). A datascience background is a plus - Ability to manage multiple projectssimultaneously and to effectively prioritize. You are aself-starter and are able to execute project tasks and deliverableswith minimal supervision. - Responsiveness and a bias toward action- Experience with project management and experience working withconsultants are highly desirable - An understanding of the digitalmedia and entertainment sector would be an advantage, as well ascuriosity about entertainment, people’s tastes in different regionsaround the world, and global affairs #J-18808-Ljbffr
