As a Senior Data Scientist, you will sit within the Experimentation Platform Team, working on developing and maintaining our in-house experimentation platform that runs all experiments at Viator. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, analysts, and product managers within these teams and across the wider business to ensure high-quality models and tooling are built and integrated into our platform.

We are seeking a Data Scientist who will:

  1. Work proactively to identify opportunities for improvement in experimentation methodologies, ensuring best practices in line with the latest industry advances.
  2. Employ advanced statistical techniques to ensure the validity and reliability of experimental findings.
  3. Build and maintain data pipelines relevant for experiment analysis.
  4. Identify and apply causal inference techniques to solve business problems.
  5. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to determine requirements for building a world-class experimentation platform.

Qualifications include:

  • A postgraduate degree in statistics, machine learning, or similar, or demonstrable experience with the data science lifecycle—problem definition to model deployment and monitoring.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical hypothesis testing and ML modeling techniques.
  • Experience using Python for numerical and statistical programming (including Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
  • Significant experience using SQL.
  • Experience delivering data products.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Experience conducting and analyzing AB tests in an e-commerce setting is a plus.
