We are looking for a Senior Product Data Scientist to join our Insights team for a 12-month maternity cover .
The product analytics team collaborates closely with product stakeholders to support various aspects of the Depop product, including inventory management, enhancing user experience, content creation, and platform growth. We also work with other teams such as data and machine learning to ensure data accuracy and evaluate the impact of machine learning models.
You will be responsible for owning the product analytics within a specific area, working with your squad on discovery, experimentation, and measurement, utilizing analytical methodologies to generate insights. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the wider Insights team to understand the broader business context and how your product area contributes to the overall ecosystem. This role requires developing deep expertise in a specific domain and maintaining a high-level view to guide stakeholders in making data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities Contribute to the product squad leadership team : Participate in strategic discussions, help identify opportunities, measure effects through experimentation, and track key metrics via dashboards and visualizations.
Strategic thinking : Bring a strategic perspective to your work, focusing on product improvements for users and aligning with broader business goals.
Requirements Proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets
Experience with visualization tools like Looker or Tableau
Knowledge of Python and experience with ETL scripts
Experience with experimentation and A/B testing
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and a passion for data
Commercial awareness and proactive attitude to impact
Curiosity, attention to detail, and a desire to learn
Strong ownership and organizational skills
Bonus points for: Experience in P2P marketplaces or consumer-facing mobile products
