Role Summary And Impact

The Planning team within Choreograph’s Insight and Planning pillar build the products that help GroupM’s media agencies create the best possible media plans. Our products combine data from various sources to determine how much, when and where brands should advertise to find the biggest audiences or deliver the highest return on investment. You will be embedded in our full-stack team of data scientists, engineers and product owners.

Key Responsibilities:

You will collaborate within the Planning team to develop and enhance modelling solutions that underly our media planning applications. You will be assisting the team throughout the whole product life cycle, from initial ideation and data exploration to writing production-ready code.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Conceptualizing, developing and implementing models and optimisation modules that deliver the best possible media plans to our clients
  • Performing exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, data preparation, and product prototyping based on modern statistical and ML/AI methods
  • Actively exploring and identifying state-of-the-art solutions relevant to our products
  • Building, analyzing, interpreting and tweaking prototypes in line with our product requirements
  • Using systems and internal processes efficiently and integrating these in your daily work
  • Presenting insights and findings to stakeholders

We are looking for a candidate who can display the following attributes:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent through experience
  • At least 3 years of experience as a data scientist
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong statistical knowledge, as well as an interest in applying them to complex problems
  • Programming proficiency in Python (especially numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, scipy) and SQL
  • Experience solving optimisation problems with Python
  • Experience with git
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from data science, product and engineering
  • Dedication to quality and passion for continuing to grow the skillsets of yourself and others
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to collaborators and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
  • Experience as a leader: you should be able to take on most of the responsibility for the day-to-day execution of a project and/or guide a small team.

Nice-to-haves are:

  • Experience building applications on GCP
  • Experience building agent-based simulations
  • Understanding of media planning and/or experience in adtech
