About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria 1. Educated to degree level (UG/PG) or equivalent relevant professional experience in a data, health informatics, or research discipline
2. Significant analytical experience working with large-scale linked health datasets, particularly NHS Digital data, for research use
3. Proven expertise in data linkage, harmonisation, ETL processes, data cleaning, validation, and quality control, including leadership of complex data workflows
4. Advanced technical skills in Python and R for automation and complex data processing and transformation
5. Strong working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and OpenStack and MS SQL Server, including complex queries, views, and stored procedures
6. Extensive experience operating within or leading Trusted Research Environments (TREs), supporting secure data access and output management
7. In-depth understanding of health data governance, including CAG approvals, data access agreements, and data protection legislation, with the ability to exercise independent judgement on complex technical and governance issues
8. Demonstrable experience working with senior academics, research leaders, national collaborations (e.g. UK LLC), and external stakeholders, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues to non-specialist audiences **Desirable criteria ** 1. PhD in a relevant discipline
2. Experience contributing to institutional or cross-sector data strategy
3. Experience within a UK higher education or research institute environment
4. Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
5.
