Responsibilities

  • Drive data-informed decisions by blending deep business know-how with advanced analytics & clear visualisations to surface actionable insights.
  • Shape analytics features & strategy - segmentation, identity mapping, personalisation, NLP, attribution & campaign optimisation - sizing impact and guiding prioritisation.
  • Scope problems & architect solutions - define requirements / success metrics, select the right statistical or ML approach, and plan rigorous testing & deployment.
  • Build, test & refine models in collaboration with data engineering, ensuring accuracy, transparency and governed behaviour.
  • Productionise at scale - deliver resilient, low-latency pipelines that serve millions of real-time customers while meeting security & privacy mandates.
  • Continuously optimise & A/B/n-test recommendation and marketing capabilities to hit CTR, conversion, revenue & margin targets.
  • Champion data science in agile teams - curate data sources, drive cross-functional delivery, communicate insights up to director level, and foster a learning community.
  • PhD or Master's in a quantitative field (Maths, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Marketing Analytics, Business Informatics, etc.), ideally with a data science or machine learning component.
  • End-to-end ownership of personalisation & recommender systems.
  • Building customer/behavioural segmentation, lifetime-value & propensity models.
  • Expertise in marketing attribution, uplift modelling, funnel analysis, and churn prediction.
  • Designing, running and analysing A/B tests and multi-armed bandits for measurable incremental lift.
  • Considerable practical experience of common data science technical skills: coding in Python (required), SQL (required), AWS Sagemaker, GitHub.
  • Strong practical experience of cloud-based data processing: AWS (ideally) including ML services such as Sagemaker and wider technologies, Snowflake.
  • Strong understanding of data architectures with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and different data modelling structures.
  • Familiar with agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS), prompt engineering, and responsible-AI best practices.
  • Proven leadership of agile, cross-functional squads, mentoring data scientists, analysts & engineers.
  • Clear communicator who translates model metrics into ROI-driven narratives.
