Job Description

We are seeking aData Scientistto join a leading financial services organisation. This role focuses on transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in:

• Statistical analysis & modelling– applying advanced quantitative methods to real-world data problems.
• Programming (Python )– contributing to production-level codebases.
• Data manipulation– querying, cleaning, and transforming large datasets (SQL, PySpark).

Additional valued skills include knowledge of machine learning/AI algorithms, data visualisation, and familiarity with financial services or regulated environments.

Key responsibilities:

• Identifying and sourcing data from varied internal and external platforms.
• Designing and maintaining data pipelines for efficient acquisition and processing.
• Building and validating statistical and machine learning models to identify patterns, predict outcomes, and highlight risks or opportunities.
• Partnering with business stakeholders to generate value through data-driven solutions.
• Supporting governance, risk management, and adherence to internal controls.

The position may include leadership responsibilities, such as setting objectives, coaching team members, and guiding collaborative projects. Individual contributors will also be expected to take ownership of complex assignments, influence decision-making, and provide specialist advice across functions.

This is a hybrid role with flexibility across multiple UK locations. Candidates should demonstrate strong business acumen, problem-solving ability, and the capability to communicate complex findings effectively to diverse audiences.
