Description

JOB TITLE: Senior Data & Analytics Strategy Analyst

LOCATION: Chester or Manchester

HOURS:

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of our office hubs mentioned above

About this opportunity

Lloyds Banking Group is on an ambitious path to transform how we Make Britain Prosper. We are still early in our journey to the cloud and are looking for driven individuals to help us to drive the change.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data & Analytics Strategy Analyst to join a brand-new team redefining how we create our Credit Card product and pricing strategy. This team has the opportunity to enable transformative growth in Customer Relationships for one of the biggest Credit Card portfolios in the UK.

In this role you will contribute to the delivery of lightweight Python packages for business users as we seek our strategy to be limited by ideas not tools. This will require a hands-on individual that can deliver tested and version-controlled packages, focused on business delivery, whilst meeting governance expectations.

Day-to-day, you will:

Collaborate with your team to deliver innovative tools that replace Excel models with Python tools to enable increased segmentation and speed-of-delivery

Contribute to define ways of working in your team - balancing delivery with high-quality code, focused on driving through high-value change

Uplift skills by providing support for the tools you build whilst supporting a training agenda for the wider Credit Card team

Take customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Showcase the value of your data products to both technical and non-technical audiences

Build a network of Data practitioners across Consumer Lending to influence the tools and platforms that Python developers use across the Group

What you’ll need:

Please keep in mind you do not need to be an expert in all the following areas – if you don’t meet all the criteria, you are still encouraged to apply! A strong will and can-do attitude can help overcome any areas where you might need some further work.

At least 2-3 years of experience creating package-quality Python tools using key libraries (Conda, Pandas, NumPy, Sklearn)

Specialised in using GitHub within a development team

Experience within a cloud-based environment (ideally Google Cloud Platform)

Desirable:

Prior experience developing tools within Financial Services

Experience with Data Science techniques (e.g. statistical modelling, unsupervised or supervised Machine Learning)

A commercial understanding of interpreting product financials and Profit & Loss data

A broad understanding of the regulations and legal framework impacting the credit card industry

Rural-Remote AI Jobs: A Breath of Fresh Air in the UK Tech Scene

A New Horizon for AI Professionals For years, conversations around tech careers in the UK have hinged on a central theme: to succeed in artificial intelligence (AI), you must be in or around London (or other big metropolitan areas like Manchester, Bristol, or Edinburgh). But times are changing. Technological leaps and the rise of flexible working are paving the way for AI professionals to live and work well beyond the capital. From the rugged coastlines of Cornwall and Pembrokeshire to the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, we’re witnessing an exciting trend of AI remote countryside roles that allow you to work at the forefront of tech innovation—all while enjoying the tranquillity of rural or seaside living. And it’s not just employees who stand to benefit; employers eager to attract top-tier AI talent are discovering that offering remote or flexible roles widens their candidate pool and enhances diversity. If you’re enticed by the idea of logging off from a day of coding neural networks and taking a stroll along a coastal path—or stepping outside your converted barn in Northumberland to soak in some fresh country air—this article is for you.
