Marshall Motor Group (MMG) has 142 dealerships across the UK representing 23 leading global manufacturers offering new and Approved used cars, bikes and commercial vehicles, with services including vehicle maintenance, servicing and repairs This role is key for MMG and will work as part of the central Decision Intelligence function, within the Analysis and Insights team. As a Senior DA, you will work collaboratively with other data analysts whilst working directly with MMG, providing reporting and analysis to stakeholders to achieve improved levels of business performance and identify and highlight business improvement opportunities. You will be supported by other central shared teams within Decision Intelligence - Data Engineering, Data Science, Reporting Services and Data Partnerships teams, who provide common analysis framework and standards to ensure that analysis and reporting is consistent and optimises available resources and tools. Key responsibilities To provide key stakeholders with reports and analysis to drive business performance. Communicate findings of above analysis with clear recommendations. Ensure that all reporting, analysis, and dashboards are optimised and are as efficient as possible throughout the entirety of the data flow. Gain a strong understanding of the MMG business by engaging and building relationships with key stakeholders to identify how data and insights can support improved business performance. Support the Head of Analysis and Insights in managing and prioritising workload between longer term project work and short term ad hoc requests. Build relationships and a strong understanding of the broader teams within Decision Intelligence e.g. Data Integration, Data Science and Reporting Services so that the most relevant support and tools for analysis can be utilised in the delivery of insight solutions for MMG. Take ownership of continuous professional development & keep up with rapidly changing data industry trends. Collaborate with the wider Analysis & Insights team to share learnings and best practice and participate in team discussions and wider business projects. Produce and maintain Local Work Instructions for all reports produced to ensure business continuity. Key Skills Expertise in using data to unlock business opportunities and drive improved business performance Strong analytical skills with the ability to tell stories with data and explain the rationale to stand behind recommendations. Experience in building relationships with stakeholders and understanding business needs. Entrepreneurial/ growth mind-set person capable of handling multiple competing priorities, ready to work both autonomously and within a team. Must be comfortable with ambiguity as the MMG business evolves and grows. Experience in developing data analysis solutions and insight from scratch. Experience in working with a variety in quality of datasets. Strong experience of using SQL and Python to analyse data Strong understanding and ability to use Power BI, with experience in writing DAX and connecting to different data sources Standardised approach to reporting suite development.
