Job Title: Senior Care Assistant Nights) £1000 Welcome Bonus (pro Location: Lawnfield House, 5 King Street, Newcastle, BT33 0HD Salary: 13.80 per hour + £1.00 per hour enhancement for 2 y ears Hours: 2 x posts : 25 hours per week (2 Responsible to: Home Manager MAIN FUNCTION OF JOB As a member of the management team, under the Home Manager, to assist in the effective and efficient management of the Home on a day-to-day basis, maintaining good standards of professional practice as required by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, while working within the Christian ethos of Lawnfield House. In the absence of the Home Manager (or Deputy Head), to exercise responsibility for all aspects of the operation of the Home and to relate to all callers including relatives and professionals. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Lawnfield House is registered with the RQIA to provide residential respite care for up to 20 residents who may have a learning disability; a physical disability; a sensory impairment, or may be an older person. The Home operates a No Smoking Policy. CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE Essential Experience of contributing to a care plan A good understanding of adults who require care A minimum of NVQ/QCF Level 2 Award in Health and Social Care and willingness to work towards Level 3. Appropriate IT skills to be able to use Microsoft Word, email, RQIA portal and electronic recording systems RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Essential A minimum of 2 years experience caring for older people, people with disabilities or people with mental health needs. Willingness to achieve competency in administering medications, which must be completed within 4 weeks of start date. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES Essential Availability for flexible hours working (including weekends), which may include hours beyond the normal shift pattern Must maintain registration on the relevant section on the Northern Ireland Social Care Council register Must be willing to behave in a manner which respects the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland In order to apply for this position, you need to complete an application for and monitoring form which are available for download at or can be requested by emailing or phoning .
