The Role:

We’re seeking a dynamic Sales Development Lead, based in the UK, to help scale our AI startup and contribute to our ambitious growth goals. If you are excited by the opportunity of driving customer acquisition, leading a team, and being a key player in scaling a fast-growing AI company, this role could be for you.

As the Sales Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in managing and developing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). You will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, nurturing prospect relationships, and collaborating closely with our sales, marketing, and partnership teams to generate and convert leads.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • Build and execute strategies to generate, qualify, and nurture leads, delivering a strong pipeline of prospects for the sales team
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to design and optimize outreach campaigns that resonate with prospective customers
  • Engage with potential clients to understand their pain points, ensuring our solutions align with their business needs
  • Use data to analyze and improve team performance, identifying areas for growth and implementing best practices
  • Train and support the SDR team on lead qualification, outbound prospecting, and objection handling
  • Report on key performance metrics, providing insights to senior leadership to drive decision-making
  • Work closely with account executives and the partnership team to transition qualified leads and ensure a smooth handoff
  • Stay informed of industry trends and product offerings to be a valuable resource for prospective clients
  • Support and enhance team culture, contributing to a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Ultimately own the pipeline generation target for the SDR team

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in sales development or business development, ideally within SaaS or E-commerce
  • Proven track record of success in a sales development role, with experience in leading or mentoring a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decisions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced environment of a tech startup
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and results-driven, with a passion for developing talent and driving team success
  • Experience working with CRM tools (e.g., Hubspot) and sales engagement platforms
  • Familiarity with AI and E-commerce solutions is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote or hybrid work environment
