Role Outline

This is a key role working across the BWS (Beers, Wines & Spirits) and Impulse (Snacks & Soft Drinks) Insights team. In this hands on role, working with a broad range of clients from billion pound businesses to start ups. You'll be expected to understand their business, the categories they operate in and their relationship with Tesco. The Insight Sales Associate works alongside an experienced team of sales professionals who will be there for support and mentorship to help them develop.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Drive insight sales from a pool of new business clients (CPGs in Tesco that don't currently buy ongoing data from us)
  • Support across the team with existing clients, depending on opportunities and resource (forecasting, new leads, proposal writing)
  • Proactively work on content or ideas that will help make the sales team's jobs easier or more efficient
  • Upskill to have detailed knowledge of our tools and the value they can add


An ideal candidate would have the below skills:

  • Account management / category experience gained in a Tesco/Retailer facing role
  • Experience in the insight / data space
  • Success in a relevant sales role
  • Experience in the BWS or Impulse categories


The successful applicant would be expected to demonstrate:

  • Experience of using data to influence
  • Resilient, with a positive mindset, driven to find a new path when the first is blocked.
  • A relationship builder - comfortable adapting style to varied internal and external contacts, influencing based on their needs.
  • Highly organised, displaying strong numeracy a structured approach to account planning.
  • A strong communicator, verbally and digitally, creating simple & actionable solutions.
