About the Role

Our robotic technology blends pioneering computer vision, deep reinforcement learning and advanced sensing to automate the picking and packing process. Robotic arms make smart decisions on the fly, packing grocery items densely into bags without any prior knowledge of what the products are or whats coming next. By integrating seamlessly with the technology in The Hive, customer orders can be fulfilled without human touch.

We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer to support the development of our robot picking system.

What you will be doing 

Participating in the productionisation, engineering and the optimisation of our robotic system making sure it fulfils the quality requirements for a commercial product. Taking an active role in the choice of technologies and techniques used in the delivery of robotic applications. Participating effectively in investigating and implementing sensor-driven robotics solutions to specific automation problems Maintain and improve CI/CD and automated testing pipelines.

About you 

Excellent software engineering skills, whilst being able to translate your own and the teams ideas into robust and reusable code ready to be deployed in production.  Experience in working with robotic systems or proven experience within a similar industry Excellent software engineering skills: ability to write reusable and clean code and to design software; Experience with common software development tools and practices (e.g. source control, code peer review, etc.); Experience performing integration of large or complex systems; Experience in machine learning techniques and developing machine learning solutions, applied to robotics or other domains; Demonstrable experience in developing software in C++ and python; Familiar with containerization applications like Docker; Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD systems; Experience developing on Ubuntu Linux
