About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria 1. PhD in statistics, data science, biostatistics, machine learning or a closely related quantitative discipline. 2. Excellent mathematical and statistical knowledge, with strong foundations in modelling, inference and predictive methods.
3. Demonstrable experience analysing large and complex datasets, preferably electronic health records or other routinely collected healthcare data.
4. Sound understanding of the psychology of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions sufficient to support appropriate interpretation of clinically derived data.
5. Strong programming skills in R, Python or a comparable language, with a commitment to reproducible research practices.
6. Proven experience collaborating with diverse, multidisciplinary research teams and communicating complex methodological concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
7. Experience contributing to peer-reviewed publications, including at least one first-author publication, and presenting research at academic or professional conferences. Desirable criteria 1. Experience engaging with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activities, including initiating or contributing to sessions that inform study design, interpretation and dissemination, and collaborating effectively with PPIE representatives in research projects. 2. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines. 3. Experience with simulations as tools for assessing robustness of statistical methodology and sample size determination 4. Evidence of independent research development, including contributing to grant applications, developing methodological proposals or identifying new research opportunities.
