The Opportunity

"We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Product Manager to lead the development of our Platform backend services for analytics-heavy business user applications. You will collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and business teams to build the data and services infrastructure that meets the demands of highly scalable modern analytics and business intelligence applications."- Hiring Manager.

What You'll Contribute

  • Product Strategy:Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for backend services that power business user facing applications, aligning with business goals and customer needs.

  • Data Pipeline Development:Partner with engineering teams to design, build, and maintain data pipelines that process and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

  • Scalability & Performance:Ensure pipelines are optimized for scalability, low latency, and high availability to support business-critical analytics.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:Work with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to identify data needs and deliver solutions that enable actionable insights.

  • Feature Prioritization:Prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact, technical feasibility, and resource availability.

  • Compliance & Security:Ensure pipelines comply with data privacy regulations and adhere to security best practices.

  • Monitoring & Metrics:Define KPIs to measure service performance, reliability, and effectiveness, and oversee monitoring processes for early issue detection.

  • Documentation:Maintain clear documentation of service processes, schemas, and data flows to support transparency and knowledge sharing.

  • Market Awareness:Stay informed about trends in data engineering, analytics, and tools (e.g., ETL frameworks, cloud services) to drive innovation.

What We're Seeking

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Significant experience in product management with a focus on backend systems, data pipelines, or analytics platforms.

  • Proven track record of delivering complex technical products or systems.

  • Proven experience with a combination of data-related technologies including predictive analytics, decision intelligence or optimization.

  • Understanding of data engineering principles, ETL/ELT processes, and technologies like Apache Kafka, Spark, or Airflow.

  • Familiarity with data storage systems (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Comfort building software that processes billions of transactions or data elements.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and managing backlogs and sprints.
