Principal Data Scientist London / WFH / Remote to £125k

Do you have expertise with using Data Science to glean valuable insights on user behaviour?

You could be taking on a high profile role at one of Europe's most successful audio content platforms with 176 million active users and ambitious growth plans to become the world's number one music streaming service.

As a Principal Data Scientist you'll join a small, talented team responsible for providing actionable insights and data products around user behaviour. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and drive revenue goals, using data insights to enhance customer and artist onboarding and retention.

This is a highly technical role where you'll be building, productionising and scaling feature stores, working with end-to-end data and machine learning pipelines; you'll create predictive, clustering and causal models in the production environment.

You will partner closely with business stakeholders to identify requirements, prototype and test ideas in a collaborative, international team environment.

Location / WFH:

The company has offices in London and Berlin; you'll be able to work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in London every other month and travelling to Berlin three times a year for company meet-ups and socials (expenses paid).

About you:

  • You have a strong record of academic achievement, 2.1 or above at BSc, ideally having completed MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or a quantitative scientific discipline.
  • You have strong commercial experience as a Data Scientist working on production systems.
  • You have experience of creating models, uncovering drivers and generating insights related to platform user behavior and engagement, such as churn/retention propensity, affinity, and user personas for large scale web based companies.
  • You have expertise with SQL and Python (including scientific libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy) and a good knowledge of Machine Learning models and algorithms.
  • You have strong Data Visualisation skills and can comfortably convey complex information to business stakeholders.
