The Opportunity:

As a Principal Data Scientist at Intent HQ, you will help answer questions like:
How
do we create the most powerful predictive customer embeddings from customer data in a privacy-safe way?
What
are the trade-offs between optimising for marketing goals and customer experience?
How
do we create the richest behavioural insights that help us balance between them?Canwe pre-train models to deploy out-of-the-box insights to new customers?
How
do we leverage customer response data to continuously and automatically adapt and improve our models in production?

We’re looking for an individual contributor who will lead a cross-functional team of data scientists and ML Engineers, responsible for delivering amazing new capabilities to our customers. As a senior member of the Data Science community here at Intent HQ, you will mentor and guide more junior data scientists, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning. We will also invest in your development through training opportunities to keep you up to date with the latest research trends.

As a Principal Data Scientist you will drive an innovative R&D roadmap in close collaboration with a Senior Technical Product Manager to achieve clear business outcomes. Your thought leadership on ML techniques and commercial AI will help the Product and Sales teams communicate effectively about the AI capabilities you are building.

Qualifications:

- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience:

- 6+ years as a Data Scientist with a proven track record of delivering machine learning models and insights on large-scale data sets.
Technical Skills:
-
Production level coding proficiency in programming languages such as Python with experience in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Scikit-Learn. Solid and broad knowledge of Machine learning theory including statistical methods, synthetic data creation, and modern deep learning techniques such as transfer learning.
- Continuous delivery of robust data science capabilities into production using Agile frameworks (e.g. git, scrum, model monitoring).
Analytical Skills:

- Comfortable working with a product manager to translate business goals into machine learning proposals which can be qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated.
- The ability to interrogate complex datasets and problem solve creatively.
- Research skills required to independently discover, apply and critically evaluate state-of-the-art ML techniques.
Leadership Skills:

- Experience in leading DS projects end to end with successful deployments into production.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with scalable solutions to exploit very large datasets (e.g. PySpark and Kubernetes).
- Experience in customer marketing insights.
Reporting line:Reporting to the Director of Data Science.
