Overview

Principal Consultant – Artificial Intelligence role at Automation Consultants. The company is expanding services to include artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The role requires a senior consulting professional with AI expertise and a strong commercial focus to originate and deliver complex AI projects for customers, typically medium to large enterprises or similarly-sized public sector entities. You will interact with CIOs of these organisations and have the management skills to deliver projects successfully.

For the commercial aspect, you will be supported by the company’s sales and marketing teams. You will draft and disseminate marketing messages aligned with market opportunities and collaborate with the sales team to engage prospective customers. For project execution, you will be supported by a team of able consultants with strong technical AI and traditional IT skills and solid project management capabilities. As a Principal Consultant, you will shape strategic engagements with enterprise and public sector customers and often interact with senior management to influence the company’s direction.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Originate AI consultancy assignments within or adjacent to the company’s main areas of expertise
  • Oversee the execution and delivery of these projects, ensuring they meet customers’ objectives and deliver measurable return on investment
  • Interact with customers at all levels, up to and including strategic, CIO level
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to refine the company’s commercial and technical strategy as regards AI
  • Oversee the further training and enablement of the company’s consultants in delivering practical AI solutions to customers
  • Interact with the company’s partners, such as Atlassian, Snowflake, Databricks, Retool and AWS, and develop the partnerships which are most important to AI and your role. Where appropriate, this could include building new partnerships.
Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • A proven ability to originate and deliver complex AI consultancy projects that deliver measurable value to customers
  • The ability to project-manage complex AI consultancy projects from inception to a successful conclusion
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to interact with customers at a senior level
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating high performing teams

Nice to have

  • Experience of consultancy projects in conventional IT fields such as DevOps, Agile and custom software development
  • Experience of using the software and systems of AC partner companies Snowflake, Databricks, Retool and AWS
  • Experience of Atlassian software including familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
