About Schroders
Were a global investment manager. We help institutions, intermediaries, and individuals around the world invest money to meet their goals, fulfil their ambitions, and prepare for the future.
We have around 5,000 people on six continents, and weve been around for over 200 years, but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesnt change is our commitment to helping our clients and society prosper.

The AI Enablement team is dedicated to integrating AI services into Schroders, providing access to Gen AI technologies that benefit both employees and clients. In its inaugural year, the team has been pivotal in making LLMs accessible to every employee through the successful launch of our internal AI Assistant, Genie, which utilises OpenAI models. Genie has an impressive user base with over 2000 active users each week. Building on this success, we are now expanding our central AI capabilities to accelerate adoption across the Schroders Group while ensuring consistency.

AI Enablement must collaborate across the Group to oversee and support AI use cases utilizing our technology products, while also ensuring robust Responsible AI governance and promoting education and adoption. This position will assist in these initiatives, along with the duties detailed below, to ensure efficient coordination with stakeholders for our companys AI transformation.

What youll do

In this role, you will be at the heart of defining technology solutions across the portfolio of the AI Enablement team. You will apply critical thinking to the problems faced by the business and form the bridge between business stakeholders and software delivery teams, translating business requirements into technical artifacts. In addition, you will foster and facilitate team processes that keep the team focused, well-organised, and motivated to continuously improve.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Apply a wide variety of business analysis techniques to capture business needs, discover requirements, map out domains and generate solutions.
  2. Create alignment and ownership between multiple stakeholder groups. Ensure scope is well managed and considers value, feasibility, and implementation constraints.
  3. Oversee and refine AI governance frameworks to promote responsible AI usage and compliance with internal AI policies and external regulations.
  4. Continuously improve guidelines, standards, and risk management processes for AI models and tools.
  5. Coordinate responses to requests for information from clients, industry bodies, and regulatory bodies regarding AI activities within the Group.
  6. Own the discovery phase of new initiatives that crosscut the needs of multiple teams.
  7. Support the development team to have appropriately detailed backlog items with clearly articulated business value.
  8. Participate in agile ceremonies and adhere to agile methodologies and best practices alongside the rest of the team.
  9. Play a leading role in the delivery of complex projects or capabilities.
  10. Perform advanced data analysis and reporting.
  11. Demonstrate expertise in the latest advancements in Generative AI technologies and provide relevant insights or recommendations for their use in addressing business challenges.
  12. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  13. Solve problems by working independently and in a team environment.

What youll be like

  1. An excellent communicator and problem solver with an aptitude for critical thinking.
  2. Resourceful with a skill for removing impediments and navigating problems faced by the wider team.
  3. Proactive and dependency aware.
  4. Someone who acts to break down information and knowledge silos.
  5. Solid understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies and best practices, with the ability to apply these in a product management context.
  6. Skilled at building and sustaining positive relationships. You will have a bias towards achieving buy-in with stakeholders not just sign-off.
  7. Adaptable and flexible. You will consider the right tool for the situation at hand instead of relying on the same go-to tools/approaches.
  8. Ability to swiftly acquire and assimilate new business domain expertise.
  9. Previous experience of specifying and successfully delivering AI and/or Data Science initiatives is highly desirable.
  10. Skilled in utilising data and evidence to create data insights dashboards with tools such as PowerBI.

We recognise potential, whoever you are. Our purpose is to provide excellent investment performance to clients through active management. Diversity of thought facilitated by an inclusive culture will allow us to make better decisions and better achieve our purpose. This is why inclusion and diversity are a strategic priority for us and why we are an equal opportunities employer: you are welcome here regardless of your age, disability, gender identity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, socio-economic background or any other protected characteristics.

Company

As an investment manager, we make decisions every day on behalf of savers and investors around the world. They depend on our broad investment expertise, across private and public markets to manage: £731.6 billion (€871.3 billion/$990.9 billion) of wealth and investments. We help them achieve their long-term financial goals – and make a positive impact in the world.

Over the years, we’ve perfected investing in our people

We’ve built a stellar reputation for our work and unique culture. Our secret? We’ve picked the best people for the job and given them the opportunities and tools to thrive.

You don’t just get a job here – you can fulfil your career ambitions.

Once you’re part of our team, our global learning and mentoring platforms help you hone your expertise and keep developing. We’re big on mobility – so many people find their next job at Schroders, too, moving up and across the business to build a fulfilling career.

Inclusion is more than a buzz word

It’s part of everything we do. We’ve built a culture where people can bring their whole selves to work, and we welcome unique perspectives. We also set trackable goals to improve representation across the board wherever we fall short.

We’ve made inclusion a conscious choice at every step

Our vision is for our people to reflect the diversity of the communities we live and work in. And for everyone to feel they truly belong at Schroders.

We take a local-led approach to improving inclusivity

Everyone’s at a different stage of their inclusion journey – with cultural and local practices to consider. So we listen to our employees through pulse surveys and collect diversity data so we can identify areas for improvement and maximise impact through local initiatives.

Driving inclusion at Schroders

As a Disability Confident employer and a member of the global Valuable 500 initiative, we’ve partnered with a disability-specialist organisation to conduct an audit and provide recommendations on how to make our recruitment processes more accessible to potential candidates with a disability.

Our passionate people lead the way

Our employee-led inclusion networks support our grassroots approach to building an inclusive culture. These create space for networking, celebrating our differences, and raising awareness of challenges that under-represented groups face.

Transparency around our progress holds us to account

Inclusion is everyone’s business. There’s still a long way to go, so we use what we know to help the firms we invest in to accelerate change together across the industry and beyond. It’s important for us to be open about the high standards we set for ourselves, and to hold the companies we invest in to account.

And we offer a world of wellbeing at work. Looking after our people is always first on our list. We hold regular events supporting mental and physical wellness. And our global employee assistance programme is on hand offering free, independent, and confidential support.

And we offer flexible working and locally-relevant benefits. At Schroders, everyone works flexibly and has access to our global learning platforms and opportunities and our best-practice framework for mental health and wellbeing at work. We are also constantly reviewing and evolving our policies to suit an ever-changing set of needs and family setups.

We’re recognised for our inclusive workplace. We’re proud to be recognised as Large Employer of the Year at the prestigious FTAdviser Diversity in Finance Awards, and are continually included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index and among the Top 75 employers of the Social Mobility Index.
