WHAT IS THE ROLE?

We are creating a new team within Newton: the AI Hub. The AI Hub is focused on bringing proven AI and data science to solve real-world problems and deliver value to our clients across various sectors and challenges. It's about identifying new opportunities to deliver value for our clients by leveraging data, insights, and automation. It's about setting Newton up to take advantage of AI now and into the future, in line with our values of professionalism with respect, exceptional performance and love our people. By integrating AI, we will create a unique place for Newton with our focus on outcomes in a market that is becoming increasingly saturated with AI narratives without the evidence of the value they deliver.

As part of the AI Hub, you will work closely with other AI experts, software engineers, consultants, and clients to design, develop, and deliver practical solutions that make a difference. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, such as optimizing operations, enhancing customer experience and predicting outcomes. You will also have the chance to learn from and collaborate with some of the best minds in the industry and grow your skills and expertise in a supportive and dynamic environment.

As a Principal AI consultant, you will be part of a larger programme leadership team that is in charge of scoping, selling and delivering comprehensive solutions for our clients. You will have a passion for using data science and a commitment to solve complex problems that really matter. We expect this to be a hybrid role with UK based travel to client sites.

Your deep knowledge of our client needs, and wider market trends means you will be skilled at designing solutions that effectively address their challenges.

Your role will be to:

Act as a technical leader to our AI consultants helping to architect the right solutions and assuring their quality Understand how AI can be applied to deliver real impact against specific client challenges Build our presence in the AI community, starting to be an influential person in AI Build deep and lasting relationships with our clients Engage and excite clients and sectors, helping to develop and lead propositions align to specific sector challenges Be part of an account leadership team, shaping opportunities that use AI to deliver real impact Effectively helping to manage a programme including the stakeholders, programme team, schedule, budget, deliverables and outcomes Identify and manage the risks and ethical implications of using AI in different domains and contexts Excite our own senior leadership on the value of AI and how we can apply it to client problems Ensure alignment and integration of the AI solutions with the wider change programme and the client's existing systems, processes and data sources

YOUR EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

We will be looking for a range of experience and technical abilities in our preferred candidates which includes:

Demonstrable expertise in designing and delivering end-to-end solutions for various domains and industries, this includes knowledge of deployment architectures and cloud Ability to lead projects that design, prototype, implement and test descriptive, predictive analytics, forecasting, simulation, optimisation and causal inference models using standard development practices Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and articulate the value proposition and competitive advantage of AI solutions for clients Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to pitch, persuade and negotiate with senior decision-makers and influencers Deep knowledge of the current trends, challenges and opportunities in the AI landscape, and the ability to anticipate and respond to the evolving needs and expectations of clients Experience in leading and mentoring junior AI consultants and data scientists, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence within the team Proficiency in using programming languages and tools for data analysis, such as Python, R, SQL, Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc. Experience in DevOps or DevSecOps Experience in working with large and complex datasets, both structured and unstructured, and applying advanced techniques such as deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning A passion for innovation and continuous learning, and a willingness to share knowledge and mentor others A proven track record of delivering high-quality and impactful data-driven solutions to real-world problems A strong knowledge of the state-of-the-art methods and best practices in data science, such as data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, validation, evaluation, and deployment
