Job Description

Our Pricing team is the engine room of our business and key to our continued success. The Pricing Manager will use technical skills and experience to deliver significant improvements to our pricing models, capability and analysis. You will also lead a team of Analysts, empowering them to be pioneers in the pricing space and make an impact.

What you will do:

Devise, and coordinate our use of modelling and analytical techniques in order to identify and implement ground breaking improvements to our pricing algorithms. Use and display a deep knowledge of pricing, modelling (including Data Science techniques) and price optimisation to deliver uplift in model outcomes. Own major modelling projects from the ground up to implementation. Lead the identification of challenges and/or opportunities by interpreting our data/MI and presenting appropriate actions. Own sign-off meetings with senior members of staff, gaining approval for any recommended changes, taking responsibility for the clear articulation of the business benefits/risks and the pros/cons of the methodology used Manage, empower, encourage and own the technical development of a team Analysts by mentoring, coaching and upskilling on technical ability. Be our 1st line of defence in making sure all models implemented are in line with regulatory and fair value measures, escalating and owning any breaches.

Qualifications

We’d love you to have:

A passion for data, analysis and drawing meaningful insight from data to share with a business to make impactful recommendations and changes. Experience within a Pricing Manager role with extensive knowledge of the UK Motor or Home insurance products / markets. Strong people leadership skills with the ability to coach, lead and mentor a team. Significant experience in delivering statistical models, GLMs, GBMs or other relevant techniques Strong governance awareness to make sure models implemented fully adhere to regulatory and far value measures. Experience with Radar and other insurance pricing software such as Emblem. Good experience with statistical software SQL, SAS or Python.
