We are looking for a Pricing Apprentice to join our London-based Global Pricing team.

The Opportunity

Our Apprenticeship Programme is the perfect opportunity to start your Actuarial career with a global company in the dynamic and thriving insurance industry.

Starting in September 2025, our Actuarial Pricing Apprentice program will allow you to develop a range of skills while working within our Global Pricing team. In addition to on-the-job development, over the course of 42 months, you’ll spend 20% of your time participating in a Level 7 Actuarial Apprenticeship that will guide you through your Actuarial qualifications. Some of your specific responsibilities during apprenticeship could include:

  • You will assist with pricing individual accounts using an Excel-based tool, preparing data, and working closely with underwriters. We will help you develop the skills to make your own actuarial decisions.

  • You will conduct detailed profitability reviews, preparing data and analyzing how profitable individual accounts or business segments are.

  • You will help with cross-LOB ( Line of Business) pricing processes, which include collecting and validating data, doing technical analysis, and creating initial recommendations.

  • You will support the maintenance of pricing tools, refining them through recalibrations and developing statistical pricing methods, including predictive modelling and data science techniques.

  • You will build strong relationships with the Underwriting teams, helping them understand and support our pricing methods and tools.

  • You will keep track of global market trends and ensure that our pricing reflects current loss trends and industry changes.

Eligibility

  • To meet the entry requirements of the Level 7 apprenticeship, you must have a degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics or a degree in a non-numerate subject with a minimum grade B in A-Level mathematics or equivalent, or completed an Actuarial Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship.

  • You must also be aged 18 or over, living in England, not in full-time education, and have the right to work in the UK.

  • Analytical Thinking- Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study, or examine data in detail, draw appropriate conclusions, and present solutions to others.

  • Strong computer fundamentals such as Excel, VBA, and SQL or Python/R experience preferred.

  • Fluent English language skills

Further Information:

  • The role is fixed term for 42 months, but we expect well-performing candidates to be converted into a permanent role before the end of this term.

  • You will be supported on a generous study package approximately 1 day a week to study towards your actuarial exams.

  • This apprenticeship will commence in September 2025.
