What this role is all about:

This role is for an actuarial analyst in the VitalityLife Pricing team supporting the implementation of our pricing and new business value strategy. You will require an understanding of life insurance actuarial dynamics and the life insurance market in the UK. You will be responsible for driving improvements to our pricing position and strategy, taking ownership of the pricing control cycle from idea, to proposal, evaluation, approval and delivery.

Key Actions

Deliver on the pricing control cycle: identifying opportunities for improvement in pricing position, crafting effective improvement strategies. You will deliver these through our pricing system and observe the results. Deliver and improve on end-to-end reprice processes for existing business products. This includes all actuarial, analytical and modelling aspects of the process. Optimise and run pricing models and perform assessments of existing pricing strategies. Assess the viability of commercial deals and submit proposals to senior management. Assist in the data analysis required for re-pricing and sales monitoring. Prepare and present reports for relevant Committees and forums.

The candidate would be supported in, and is expected to be working towards qualifying as an Actuary on the company study scheme. 

Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:

Undergraduate degree in a numerical or stats based subject Actuarial Student ( progress through Core exams) with interest in continuing actuarial study career (exam support provided). Experience making use of advanced analytical skills in Microsoft Excel, Python / R, and relational database languages such as SQL. Experience of translating complex business or real-world problems into analytical solutions, communicating proposals and delivering on actions.
